but yes - fucking races event has 10ish attending 10ish no's and 20ish MAYBES - 20 people MAYBE is a fairly big amount if they actually show! so annoying!!!
also, certain people i know coughbenandcreepytroyandcocough say 'maybe' instead of 'no' because they think its nicer... umm no, if you're not coming frkiin say so you loser!
I recently had to make an event for my 18th on facebook, and the exact same thing happened. I think the 'maybe attending' thing is fine for huge events (such as Mardi Gras, etc), but when it's for parties involving close, IRL friends and they have to be that ambivalent... well I just consider that fucking rude.
hmm.. i may attend the gathering at the gold coast, put it on facebook so i can say "maybe im attending" ... lol jk, i would go but im all the way in cairns
