@tombayly13 well u could get somethin like a sample pad but thats not EVEN remotely close. for quiet, u could go electric but thats most certainly not cheap. and if u want cheap but dont care about quiet, just buy a simple 5 peice and add on over time. thats what i did. bought a crappy simple $150 set. it sucked sure but it was somethin to play. now ive got great cymbals, heads, etc. it just takes time to save up and buy good stuff.

@tombayly13 a bit of both actually. im 20 and ive been playin for about 7 years now. i took lessons for a few months from 3 different teachers plus i marched in high school and last summer in a corps. which is WAY more helpful thn people think just because one, it helps with rhythm and two, the marching helps with coordination(especially if u want a double bass pedal.) but the lessons werent workin very well for me so i taught myself the rest of the way. plus the lesson money aint worth payin.
