Well done! When 'Breakaway' aired in September 1975, many of us were 'blown away' -I was 16- and compared with the disappointing Series 2 (no Barry Morse', Prentis Hancock, or Barry Gray music), Series 1 still stands-up well. Why not 'put' the 'Dragon's Domain' episode to 'Alien' by Nostromo?, 'The Last Sunset' to 'Clouds' by David Gates, and 'Something' by the Beatles for 'Another Time, Another Place' -Bergman's line: "You've come back[!]" still sends a chill down the spine 35 years on.
Is that the same Moon model they used on their earlier UFO series? Looks the same. I have the same 6-wheeled "moonmobile", mine is the Hustler model in red powered by 349cc Curtiss/Wright engine. I kinda wished they tied in the UFO series with this one. It would've been neat ifthere was an episode where they found the earlier moonbase with the Interceptors still intact. Loved the first season when they first aired but got bored on the second year and stopped watching..
Great video. Am 47 now, remember well Year One. It premiered on my birthday September 9th, 1975. Still have my 1999 collectibles and dozens of illustrations of 1999 I created over the following several years.
'Year One still looks great after so many years.
For years thought about teaming Lost in Space with 1999 and the castaways finding their way back to earth.
Now to explain the Jupiter II leaving earth in September '97& Alpha leaving another, or the same one in 1999...
@randolphmarshall The Moon is tidally locked to Earth, so WE only see one face, but the moon itself orbits the Earth and half the time it faces the sun, and half the time it doesn.
Absolutely unmissable! 1970s disaster movie-type excitement. I was 9 years old when it first ran and remember clearly all the kids at school would be drawing the Eagles the only thing i ever did draw well.
Great!!! I haven't seen Breakaway in over 20 years! I was 13 when it first ran on Canadian t.v.
(Friday at 5:30) I wasn't the most popular kid,so I spent a lot of time in my room listening to music. I used to make my own Space themed art work while listening to,among many bands, Supertramp! Esp. Crime of the Century!
Enjoyed this a lot. Song matched really well. So exciting when I watched first episode aged 11. Still have a thing for eagles. Lol at futurama star trek episode when they destroy all star trek stuff. Shame scripts were so bad. Might reboot as well as battlestar g did
Didn't realize how weird that Moon looked. I think it was the same Moon used in their earlier "UFO" series.
I remember how excited I was when I first saw this episode, it's been years since they cancelled Star Trek TOS and I missed seeing a good new sci-fi adventure.
I don't know what to say....My god!! you've got a gift....The song brings so much emotion to the edit, and I'm a firm beleiver that the choice of music can make or break an video.. Hats off to ya! And again I love the ending. Well done lunamo

Liked him in Space 1999, he was almost believable as Victor.
RIP Barry.

That's a lovely song choice. It's not easy to maintain the unique atmosphere of Breakaway when you edit it but you did amazingly well.
