Thank you what my mother had kept from me was always in me what's in the darkness will come to light. This is the time when all Acholi children are coming home. I am home but haven't reached there physically yet. R.I.P. dad thank you for the gift of life and music.
Never Understood where I got my music talents from until I found out after 33 years that my dad was Acholi (who I never met) Now I understand. Its how we deal with pain, joy and life and creation. I don't speak a word or understand most of it cause I was raised without the cultural awareness. But it's in my blood and that's all I need to know. I will have this song in my head when I meet my 97 year old grandmother who has never met me Gulu.
@MrMenelik77 Nice comment! I don't even know this song neither what "Acholi" means nor what country this song is from. I loved the song and your comment got my attention. You are such a great person yearning for his cultural identity and wishing to go back to his roots one day. May you live to see that day and meet your beloved grandma too.
jal thanks for adding wii obur to my acoholi vocab . my lyrical brother that bit about forgiving is a hard reality for some though, i supose peace and love is a good start. x
