he is playing a chess game with philosophy. As long as there is interaction there is some contraction of separateness. Yes, if interactions are transcended completely then perhaps there is no contraction. But that is also the end of relationship in the way we generally experience relationship.
@BuddhaPoet "have a nice day" is the most powerful and common koan. ;-) Break the day down to smaller chunks, so at first "have a nice 5 minutes" (then you can return to deep self-delusion), then just work up to actually having a full "nice day". Happiness is like practicing piano. Just keep practicing.
part of being whole is also the feeling of being un-whole. so we're really only just back to the place where we started again. with some perspective, all of these teachings and messages can be summed up by the most simple of common sense cliche's...

and on and on and on.
they all point to that same empty space..
can easily turn into a mind trap.
