I was at the time in touch with Jeff (the singer) Spencer, I mean stamps and letters (do you remember that time?). MRB was my favorite US Rockabilly band, cult in France... so in Europe (?). Jeff, where ever you are now, I like you. I remember you and your girlfriend in Paris, in the back of my small car talking about Jerry Lee, Carl Perkins... Man, I miss you. Just can not believe that you've passed away... There are so many things that I'd like to tell you... My band, your music...
@Nicotine64800 This band was from Mass. They were great and played a lot of places in Boston but they'd come to a dive of a place in Millis, MA (can't remember the name). The guitar player would stand up on the tables and walk from one to the other. They were GREAT. I always wondered what happened to them.
@jki9275 I just Saw them last week.. They are great.. They play at the Amvet every month in Randolf MA.. The guys in our band ( Rumble House Rockabilly) are really friendly with them.. If you have the chance to go see them do it. You will love it.. They are on face book now do a search on them..
When Johnny & Dorsey Burnette would practice, they would do it in front of their young sons, Rocky & Billy Burnette. Thus the name was born, RockaBilly!
@dixierebel20 this particular tune was not/ - you're right, more kind of doo wop but if you can get your hands on one of their albums, circa 1984-85 you'll hear for yourself.
