  • words do fail. He was one of the greatest stars of his age. Forever Changes ranks with Pet Sounds, Revolver, etc.

  • rip AL. This album will live on !

  • Alone Again Or....absolutely classic song....the whole album is brilliant. Man, whatever that was in the water that produced this generation of American and British musicians, I sure wish we could find it again. They were absolutely extraordinary. The list is endless...Lee, Hendrix, Page, Townshend, Dylan, Lennon, McCartney, Young, Gilmour, Barrett, Joplin, Gaye, Mayfield, Waters, Marley, Fogerty, Plant, Bonham, JPJ, Davies, Mitchell, Aretha, Wonder, Wilson.....truly unreal.

  • Rest in peace sweet Arthur......

  • arthur lee and bryan mclean`s music never tires or gets old ! they are like wine! get finer and more invigorating as the years go by ! can you truly say that about the doors, beatles and stones . . . anything else ? ? ? WHO HAS A VOIKE ARTHUR`S ???

  • Saw them in '73 or '74 at Essex Uni.

The only music-related T-shirt I own is an Arthur Lee one which I still wear around Brighton in the summer. I'm always amazed at the number of people who recognise him and want to stop and talk about him.

  • @BrightonBo you are toooo cool

  • every song on Forever Changes is brilliant.......Alone Again Or is one of my all time fave songs and the album helped me through an extremely difficult time in my life.

  • I completely agree...It is definitely in the top 10 albums ever produced.

  • I was at this gig.

  • one of the 1st albums i bought. great music. to think what he could have done if he had lived longer......

  • that is just simply amazing!

  • We still have the original album that my wife 1st played for me in 1968. I was bluntly blown away. Fast forward 43 years to last month when I found this concert on Netflix. Once again both of us were stunned by Arthur Lee's album. He had a presence only matched by Brudda Iz and Jimmy.

  • I listen to the music of today and nothing compares with Love, what an amazing concert that must have been at the Albert Hall. RIP Mr Lee, your music and spirit live on.

  • Purchased this albumn in 1969, and haven't stopped playing it since. Did give in and bought the CD. Love doesn't get any better!

  • This is from the 2003 DVD, pick it up!

  • Fuk' : I was in London ,when A.lee came out fr. havin' done 'Time' (app.for a 'gun rap'??)...He was playin' in the half moon ,putney..an' many other places : like a 'dickhead' i didn't go!!![Had spent my dole check on other 'extravagancias'!!!! Now here be I in S.Am.[since 14 yrs.],and seems he's left his body/gone on a long 'vacation'!Too damn shitty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Art' ,I'll see ya in Heaven!!!!!U were one of the 'BEST'!!!

  • Love and the Byrds were the sound in Los Angeles when I was growing up here. Of course the Byrds went on to much larger fame, which I never understood why Love never really did. So I had the chance to see themm several times in the 60's and early 70's as well as three more times after Arthur's release from prison before his death. The last shows he did along with this clip were incredible. Arthur never sounded better than he did the last few years of his life.

  • Had the honour of seeing Arthur on this tour at the Limelight club in Crewe, packed to the rafters ! the owner hadn't even heard of him and was stunned at the crowd!, one of the most memorable nights of my life, only matched a couple of years later seeing Paul Kantner play " blows against the empire" at the same venue... Arthur's gone and so is the Limey, big hole in my life !!

  • I was at this show. It exceeded all expectations.

  • I was so fortunate to see the Forever Changes concert at the Birchmere in Alexandria VA. I will never forget it. Arthur Lee was just plain magic. One of those greats that show up only once. Arthur, R.I.P. You are still LOVE>

  • Nice.

Any chance you couldpost "7 and 7" is from the ame show.....?

    Classic.

  • love arther and the band life in the basment one of my freinds parents embarresd buy his being to high took him to their beach house and chained him in the back yardcoller and padlock but still chains he told me he wanted to give me his record colection i said id rather just listen with you man he said i have to go man the phone is melting love this album remember the days p.s. it all worked out

  • The production of this concert is better than 99 % of the stuff you get anymore.

  • What a great performance of 2 super songs! I Would have liked to have been there for this concert. R.I.P. Arthur

  • Frankly, to my ears Arthur Lee is much better than Kurt Cobain, and Love is much better than Nirvana. Yet every day folks rarely hear of Arthur Lee, while Kobain is mythologized and Nirvana heralded as the "sound of a generation." Tells you something. All I know is, Arthur Lee was brilliant and unique and deserving of more accolades for his accomplishments than he received during his lifetime.

  • One day I went to a recordstore and told the guy working there that I wanted a few great rock n roll albums. He told me to buy the forever changes album...my life have not been the same since.

  • Love this, thank you -- this concert was at Town Hall the same effin night that Brian Wilson was performing Smile at Carnegie Hall! So I missed this...anyway -- I think "Forever Changes" is the dark "Pet Sounds" -- I mean that as high praise!

Also agree with the person mentioned who Spirit -- "12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus" is right up there with "Forever Changes."

  • Exquisite - and to think I didn't know about them back in the 60's - this would have been one of my favorite albums!

  • Love and Spirit, the two most underappreciated bands from LA....

  • piekne i poruszajace! kocham ta muzyke! psychodeliczny rock to jest to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's a real shame that more people aren't aware of the music of Love, spread the word, this is real music.......

  • the first song really has a 'sound'

  • BEAUTIFUL

    I'M WITH TEARS

  • top song not a lot better

  • Какое говно!!!! Бывает же такое говно, а!!! Говно полное!!! Вы когда слушаете, отдаёте себе отчёт в том, что это говно??

  • Arfer............XXX...bliss

  • If you close your eyes and listen close enough you can almost hear Bryan...

They (Love) weren't with us long, but 40 years later they are still relevant.

  • Best song ever

  • I love this band so much

  • I love this song!

  • Authur Lee singing one of the most beautiful songs before his passing, Love was such a fantastic band that I didn't know back then, Such talent ...where is it?

  • I fucking dig this song.

  • One of the best Albums ever created. I'm sure sorry Lee is dead but I'd thought him dead a long time ago. This is truly a bonus for me to see how well this was performed -so true to the original recording. I found a tape of Forever Changes and nearly broke my hand grabbing it. The very best of the '60s.

  • another reason there is no need to hear new stuff. todays artist's need to take a good listen to this.

  • All you need is LOVE

No one else even came close.

So rare and unique in a time of Doors, Byrds, Jimi, Janis and beyond.

Thank you Arthur and may you forever RIP....... great troubadour of music .

Thank YOU hershoreline for this first class video and sound.

  • The year 1964 Aquarius theater Hollywood, The band called love opening tune My Little Red Book.....been a fan ever since ...a true artist and 1 of the most underrated musicians ever. The year 2008 Anaheim Calif ..had the privilege and the honor of seeing and listening to Arthur Lee and love again and still the best ..Arthur will be missed but not forgotten R.I.P

  • @cmorebutt2006 only underrated by the suits....lee was a musicians, musician and love was a bands, band

and forever changes is one of the greatest pop albums ever made

  • Died way too young

  • Always loved these songs, always will! Thank you for posting them.

  • i think brian mclean wrote the first song.............was brian mclean the genius of arthur lee?

  • @camsurf16 I'd say Arthur was the genius, but Bryan wasn't far behind!

  • LOVE U Arthur, R.I.P.

  • What an inredible song writer Arthur was. It's great that his music with live on. Just read the history on this group, incredible.

  • if your ever gonna waste 8 minutes of your life on two tunes you never heard before, then this would be my strongest recommendation.....

  • this is an exceptional re-version of this one of a kind psyche band or artist

  • I LOVE LOVE

the revolution is in your mind

50 years of LOVE AINT ENUF

  • I have been to many concerts over the decades and this one was tops!

    dreamlike , just awesome

it finally dawned on me that arthur was sick through all this and not letting on.

allways a hat in this and other incarnations during that period the hat is ever present

the other version that toured after this was great also with johnny echols

  • the vindicator indeed

  • Just fabulous - absolutely fabulous.

  • It's release was December 1967 and was recorded starting June. You would be correct (especially if you're in Britain where it was a bigger hit) that it had more of its run in early 68.

  • House is not a Hotel is just an irresistible song with some great drumming.

  • Perfect song written by Bryan McClean unlike most of Love's song which were written by god .. I mean arthur lee a demented romantic of the first order. Forever Changes is in my Top Ten CDs of all time and Love is Robert Plant's favorite band. The fact that this song had no chance of being a hit just shows how insipid the tastes of the masses often on. Oh yeah and that's not a funny thing.

  • Those minor chords still send a shiver down my spine.

  • and you'll do just what you choose to do , and I? will be alone again tonight my dear....i could be in love with almost anyone...

  • timcom62....i got the album a few days after i saw the hootenay.....it brill...

  • i saw arthur lee on "jools holland s hootenay" i was so in awe ....i need to know what song,n if theres a live recording of his performance.....any where...ty (please)

  • @geordie6661 Yes,i've got the DVD,the best music video i one.

  • @Iggylux ...thanx 4 ure response.will u let me know the dvd title please so i can get a copy.....ty again...

  • The forever Changes concert ,a Snapper dvd,636551502078 or,send me youre email and we will see ;-)

  • @geordie6661 You need to get the album Forever Changes 1971 is the year I think. It is quite simply excellent.

  • @TimCOM62 The album was made in 1968, I have it. today as good

    as then.

  • I had the incredible pleasure of presenting Arthur and this superb band in concert about five years ago, and it was a transcendent moment, it really was. A real gentleman to work with, sweet guy. The DVD from which these two songs come is brilliant, and I'll admit it still chokes me up. Bless you Arthur, blue skies and green lights or whatever version they have of that where you are now. I hope you're at peace.

  • Brilliant - words fail here.

The pen is broke, the page is torn.

  • Great video. I was lucky enough to see Love on many occasions and even shook Arthur's hand after his appearance at Gilfest . A true gentleman and genius, he thanked ME for taking the trouble to listen to his music for nearly 40 years. RIP Arthur we LOVE you.

  • Awesome!! I just did an acoustic cover of My Little Red Book which is how I found this video! Thanks for posting! 5*****

  • not only was he one of the greats in the 60's . he kept his voice & still one of the greats till the end. most singers lose their voice with age sound awful. the stones still keep going its amazing at their age.

  • never can get over how much this fellas captured my heart. art in music.

  • Thanks so much to hershoreline for this posting...In 2003, Rolling Stone ranked the album Forever Changes 40th in the top 500 albums ever... pretty high standing.

Alone Again Or was covered beautifully by UFO in '77 as well as by The Damned and many others.

  • Wonderful Wonderful ! ! reminds me of Warrington Cheshire The UK 1982 ! ! !

  • Creative genius, quite beautiful...

  • Thanks for putting this up. Takes me back 40 years :-)

  • Through this single album .... Forever Changes ... Arthur Lee (in particular) and Love (as a group) ... simply: achieved immortality. Every Artist's dream. Achieved in spades, by these guys. I am honored to say i saw them perform live, in 1967, in Toronto.

  • wow, these lyrics in my opinion touch on like a major things i worry about in my life for years, so repsond and i will attempt to justify the appeal of the lyrics. btw, i don't know alot about production but think its the released version i have of forever changes and it sounds great. the relative levels between instruments sounds good.

  • a true gem, and impossible to repeat. Big Thanks.

  • probably the best youtube vid of all time that doesn't have more than 100,000 views. which is truly wrong

I love these guys to death, RIP Arhur

  • This is really some beautiful sounds. I'm going to look for more. Thanks for the recommend!

  • sounds better than the record! though that ain't hard, because it's dreadfully produced.

  • given the technology of the 60's, the original was pretty well-produced

  • Anybody that knows this album puts in the top 10 albums of all time.

    R.I.P - arthur and bryan

  • best musician ever!!! and the most underrated!! a gem for real music fans in a crazy x factor wannabe crap world!!!

  • One of the most EPIC underrated rockers!

    RIP

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!!

  • DE SU ALBUM FOREVER CHANGES DE 1967

  • Amazing!! :-)

  • Arthur Lee - Your spirit keeps on living.. we miss you terrible. Your fans are ever growing.

  • Amazing, sounds as good as album version!!

  • He was so amazing. Beautiful.

  • I miss this guy, I miss music like this. I miss real love.

  • Lee is backed by members of the band, "Baby Lemonade", named after a Syd Barrett song.

How strange that Syd passed away just a few weeks before Arthur Lee did.

    RIP Lee and Barrett

  • Grande Arthur Lee, soy un fanàtico de culto de Love, una de las màs hermosas canciones de todos los tiempos.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • R.I.P. Arthur Lee

  • I agree with jessicafischer. I actually much prefer listening to this recording. So much power in it, unbelievable. House Is Not...'s solo is incendiary.

  • Arthur Lee = enlightened being

  • So like it!! Arthur Lee NUMBER ONE!! BEST!!

  • It's actually amazing how much care they took with the sound and the musical arrangement in this STUNNING CONCERT.

The songs have the same phrasing and instrumentation as on the studio record, but more life to them in the live performance.

  • R.I.P. Arthur.... and Bryan, and Ken.... what great music you gave us!

  • alla grande !!!!!!!uno dei gruppi più importanti della storia della musica...uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love

  • a great album..

  • I highly recommend this the CD of this concert - as much as I love the original Forever Changes album I think I find myself listening to the live version more often. I think this may be one of the greatest live performances ever.

  • would be fun to play in that band

  • This was historic mid 1960's L.A. Sunset Strip

    music. RIP Arthur "LOVE" Lee.

  • A pinta do malandro...

  • Uno de los mejores discos de la historia, sin ninguna duda. Menospreciados en su época y ahora pero una joya para cualquier amante de la música.

    Grandes Love!!!

  • Thaks for posting this!!

Definetevely one of the best albums ever!!

    With love, from Brighton.

    Daniel.

  • nice song

  • So much Love captured in this music but eventually pain and sorrow comes...then what?lets pray that in the end it's total Love and happiness!!!

  • My dad always talked about Love...when I showed him Jane's Addiction's live album he kept saying they were just like 'Love'.

    "Who's Love?"

Lol! Arthur and Love- You're the best!

  • one of the best bands ever, along with the doors, west coast sounds 65 to 68 were the best.today we have the coral that comes near.if only there was more

  • I so agree, well stated.

  • it s a great song i love to hear it....

  • One summer on Sunset I heard this Ayahuasca coming from a record store. I instantly recognized that it was Love but . . . it changed all that came before and after. Can you imagine being a producer at Elektra in 66, 67, and 68? Why they were never bigger than the Doors, I'll never know.

  • best album of all time for sure

  • It's up there.

  • Is Forever Changes the best albun ever recorded?

  • yes it is. it is.

  • Hats off to the Forever Changes Ensemble

  • If not, the only one close is Child Is Father to The Man by the original Blood Sweat and Tears...Check it out

  • Yep.

  • Where's the freakin' close-up on the trumpet during aloneagainor? Otherwise this is so sweet.

  • THANKS FOR POSTING THIS ONE.

  • Wow what a tight band! Loved the guitar riffs!

  • Forever Changes is one of the best.

    Some get it, others don't.

This just adds to its legacy.

Duality is a mark of true greatness.

  • Thanx so much. I have the original 1968 LP, but I had never seen them live. Better late than never!

  • 1967 :)

  • I would be in love with Arthur Lee tonight, my dear....what a fantastic song

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • Fantastic music!

  • The CD is better of course. You do realize Love Forever Changes is one of the best fricken best album ever recorded ? .. other favs are Buffalo Springfield and Neil Young and The Replacements .. Love didn't tour and Replacements threw beer on fans and made crappy vidoes and didn't show on Sat Nite Lite and so great music goes unknown. Someone buy the Move's best of .. someone listen to Phil Ochs and not his protest songs just listen to Changes .. Dylan's peer. And you can call my name ..

  • Forever changes: Excellent and more. Listening to it just now. Ochs was so good, Neil still is! You seem to know your music, good!

  • Beautiful song. Hey, does anybody out there have any videos of Love shot in the '60's?

  • One of the greatest albums ever made! Fantastic. Every song was terrific. Arthur..You da man!

  • zoek alles van love en arthure lee siepelveen

  • To my wife and my son!!!

  • Yes, I saw them at Bido Lito's too.

I got this DVD and listened to it today.

I've always thought "Old Man" was their finest work.

I think Arthur was a prophet, just listen to how he spells out his life (in advance)

  • I saw them at the Fillmore East in 1970 - they opened for the Grateful Dead but I was there to see them.

mtc1023 - I agree about the Moody too!

  • I hope a documentary comes out some day. the fans are out here. RIP Arthur.

  • forever changes the album that changed my way to listen music

  • Thee best album ever recorded...no doubt...and beautifully rehearsed and played by a stunning band...fronted by a legend

  • the pinnacle riff of a house is not a motel on this live version which the bass player plays and then when the guitars join in at around 7.33 is one of my favourites ever. gives me goosebumps everytime

  • One of the best albums ever produced. I loved it in the late 60's and still love it today.

  • Is Johnny Echols playing on this too? It sure looks like him, next to Arthur!

  • The group is Baby Lemonade, the lead guitarist is Mike Randle (good website)

  • melodies from another place.. not this earth..

    maybe heaven.. yes..

  • I concur about the liklihood of this album lasting

forever. It has been my favorite for many years. I

find it funny to proclaim this as the next 15 albums

of favoritism are all the moody blues.

  • I was there in Bito Lito's (a club in Hollywood) back in the mid 60's when Love was getting started - that was a wonderful time and Love was king!

  • I heard the music of Love for the first time about 2 years ago, among them Forever changes and Da capo: an absolute REVELATION and "earopener": LOVE IT!!!

  • Total magic!

  • forever changes - still my favorite all time album - rip ....arthur .... ken..... bryan - you are truly missed........but never will be forgotten - LOVE Forever.....

  • I think this album stands up so well to the test of time. I sure did drop a lot of acid to this album! The imagery, the complexity of the music and arrangements, were a quantum leap from thier previous album, My Little Red Book is a classic, but FG. whew, just whew!!! SO far aheade of their time

  • i was at a mod weekender in london a couple of years ago waiting for love to play. untouchables do i think. who did we meet in the crowd watching the suport but the great man himself. r.i.p. my good man it was great to meet you

  • My favourite album of 1967.

  • Awsome album thx for the add!!

  • I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!

  • I saw Arthur Lee & Love live in 1993 at a small club in Boston, i was right at the stage watching his moves- He was STUNNING live...

  • Wow, this has really moved me. Wish I'd seen him on this tour, the live orchestra sounds amazing! R.I.P.

  • Forever Changes

Apparently rated as one of the best of 50 albums of all time. Sorry I was unaware of the group LOVE until the death of Arthur Lee in 2006. LOVE apparently maintained a southwestern regional location and did not tour much out of that region but kept a huge fan base over the years.Just glad that YouTube introduced Arthur Lee to me and has preserved a minute portion of his music. Alone Again Or is an awesome piece of yesteryear's music.Like finding a hidden treasure.

  • Love was one of the best groups Not well known here in Us The forever changes album is a real good one

  • A buddy from California turned this Iowa boy into a Love fanatic while we were in Vietnam together. Thanks to whoever uploaded it. I would never have known that the DVD of the concert exists. I just hope there are some sitll available. It also got me digging around on the net and found out that Arthur passed away in August. Arthur, ya done good, buddy!

  • Forever Changes was one of the great albums of the last 50 years. This is a real treat ... Many Thanks.

  • What a treat! Thank you a thousand times for uploading this! Love was a fantastic group.

  • Great music!! A big thankyou to The Damned - if they hadnt done a cover version - I would never have bought the album all those years ago!
