The Republican party is going the way of the Whigs. I predict that if they lose in 2010 and 2012 they'll be pretty much done for good. And they probably will lose because their approval rating is pretty low right now - less than 35%. Most of America has moved on. If they still exist after 2012 they'll probably lose again in 2014 and 2016 and collapse entirely.
