elvis did sing that in 1972 its on his american trilogy album on the ftd label and its also on an cd called burning love he performed it february 1972
One clue is that Elvis was not smooth and polished performer. He sang from his gut and heart! And, the guitarist would not play "solo" without Elvis directing him to do so.
