Huge Tool fan and now getting into NIN. I've seen Tool twice and they're concerts are awesome. These look incredible. Anybody been to both? NIN or Tool?
Oh please, there isn't even a comparison between Robin and Aaron. Aaron North is a decent guitarist, but Finck mops the floor with the guy in every which way possible. Aside from his actual playing, Finck's backing vocals are wayyyy better, and the guy just has this towering, intense presence. Anybody who thinks the two are even comparable needs to watch this video just once. I loved the 2005-2006 U.S. With Teeth tours, amazing shows, but LITS was just incredible and Finck helped make it happen.
He was good, and I appreciated his take on the NIN catalog, but imo Finck is the guy for the band, hence the reason Axl Rose and TR fought over his services for ten-plus years. Aaron deserves respect for coming in and playing the songs his way, and it worked considering that Trent wanted to go with this more "alternative" approach when he was putting the live band back together in 2004/05. But damn was I glad when he announced Robin would be playing with the group again.
Aaron jumped around a lot looked cool, made girls panties wet, sometimes played real good, sometimes real shity and was overall a good assent, but that place, that guitarist place was made for Robin and no one else!
It still feels unnatural for me to see Justin (or practically not see him at all) on the bass, since Dany had such presence, but oh well . Whatever happened it worked out to be real great.
@31337larry you apparently haven't watched earlier footage of robin in the good old NIN days. all respect to aaron north, but he really just doesn't hold a candle to robin's intensity.........
Looking really really good! Although would like some more close up band shots, but thats just me being picky ;). Cant wait for the release, keep up the good work!
I much prefer Robin's version than Aaron's. The BYIT DVD version seemed sloppy. It made up for the lack of technique by having a great deal of rawness and outright aggression, but I just LOVE the way Robin plays this song. He has it all :)
BYIT DVD version by Aaron is better ! ITS SO RAW!.. its a matter of opinion.. we just have to be glad that nin has (had:() this changing lineup... i love some Fincks more and some Norths more...
alphakry is wrong im almost sure of it but the byit dvd version of this song is WAYYYYYYYYYYY better-i like robin but aaron north took that solo to another level!!! its one of my favorite live songs from them-while im at it fragility (fuck yeah get the dvd) was probably one of the top 3 tours ever from any band
Well, since Trent released about 400GB of raw HD video with perfect sound, fans are scrambling to download that and work it into something professional. The fan only footage DVD is still going to be made though.
Aaron north rock this shit off , Finck is awsome but in stage aaron kicks asses

towering, intense presence
that is also reflected on the music.
Remember girls:

Aaron North was more fun, Finck was more skillee with guitar, and a bit scary.
But really, did Robin ever throw a mic stand and knock over an amp?

There was one point where he smashed the acoustic guitar after playing The Becoming. It's on Youtube somewhere.

Holy crap. How the hell did you get the sound quality that good? This is the most amazing quality I've seen for the NIN tour on youtube.
Thank you so much for uploading this.

This is work related to the upcoming fan-made tour DVD release. They put some work into the audio, this isn't the audio captured by the cameras.
