  • A really cool rendering of the TOS Enterprise. Kudos to Scott Gammans for recreating it.

  • WOW!

  • looks so much better than the remastered version

  • Very nice!

  • This was what I thought they were going to do in 2009. Instead of that godawful eyesore! I hear JJ is coming back to make another craptastic Trek pile. Guess who won't be giving him any more of my money? All you JJ fans can make all the excuses you want, but it was a watered, and dumbed down steaming pile of Targh Shit!

  • What John Barry piece is playing in the background? It sounds like it's from Moonraker but I'm not sure.

  • @Saracen11 You have a good ear, that's exactly what it is. Moonraker. Barry was one of my favorite composers. It was a shame he passed away a few months ago.

  • @SpockBoy Scott, you are a GRAPHICS GOD!

  • Beautiful! Now THAT'S the Enterprise! Not that misshapen, bloated, disproportionate kitbash of a caricature in JJ Abrams' Star Trek parody. The original E would have held up just fine on the big screen with moderate tweaking for a modern audience. There was no need to take the E through the Mickey Mouse school of design for the new movie. It was totally unnecessary. This ship is gorgeous! I am sure Matt Jeffries would be proud of this rendering.

  • Gorgeous.

  • beautiful work - 0:57-1:00 gives the impression of immense size (which the original 60's effects never could)

  • now that the real enterprise not that crap from the 2009 movie

  • Masterfully well done! John Barry's music fit's this grande dame's grace and beauty.

    JJ Abrams is an idiot!

  • Ab-so-lutely beautiful!!!!! Thank you for such awesome images! The old lady never looked so good!!!!!

  • Now that's a beautiful ship! It should have been considered for the last movie. But if they wanted something that had to look a little different I'd go with Koerner's version.

  • I agree SockBoy, this guy is a fantastic artist.

  • Very nicely done. Can't beat the simple beauty of the original Lady E :)

  • Now That's the REAL Enterprise. Why couldn’t they used her in the new movie (with a real Trek story to go with her.)?

  • It was a visual treat watching your beautiful work... it was such a joy to see my Enterprise live like that! You are so talented! Thank you for sharing your incredible vision!

  • its fkng beautiful

  • I hate all the Enterprise upgraded ships in all the movies and series. I only like the original.

  • The best CGI Enterprise ever.

  • Pretty!

  • Fascinating.

  • Beautifully executed! I suspected that was a John Barry soundtrack from the beginning.

  • That version of the Enterprise is my favorite too,

Jayce6470... it is, in fact, pretty much what my model currently looks like (although I've made even more mods since that 13-second sequence was rendered back in 2007)... you can click thorugh to my YouTube account to see what she currently looks like. :)

  • Think this guy could rerender all of the STAR TREK MOVIE clips to replace the UJJ-ABRAMS with this ship?

  • Oh GOD no. I'm having enough trouble finishing the effects do-over on a 60 minute episode of "trek"... I'd be ready for retirement before I could do the enter JJ Abrams movie!! LOL

  • @prisonerofmachines, alas no amount of CGI could replace the story.

  • @prisonerofmachines I agree totally!

  • Now THATS the Enterprise I know!!

  • OMG! Look at the shot from 0:22 to 0:32 and how the light reflects off the hull. Stunning!

  • lol

  • This isnt looking bad, but I also will always prefer models. It's the tip of the iceberg to be more authentic.

  • Isn't looking bad? Scott's work is amazing! He is one of the few people (him, Daren Dochterman, and the (rest of the) Star Trek Phase 2 Team (Daren's done some phenomenal stuff for us)) who I think truly understand that ship and know how to make each shot of her beautiful.

    Scott is *amazing*!!!!

  • I'd still prefer a model.

  • Scott's work is gorgeous!!!

  • While this looks great, it would never hold up on the big screen visually the ship is too simple

but the 3d work here is outstanding, just not for the big screen..

  • With minor adjustments and ILMs superb CGI quality, it could.

  • I think it would hold up. The original enterprise has always been very visually appealing with the flashy nacelles, the deflector dish, and the bright hull color.

  • I thought CBS did a fine job. But this in particular is quite impressive too.

Far better than that train wreck pretending to be the Enterprise in JJ Abrams new movie.

  • That was beautifully artistic and gracefull! Really, REALLY well done!

  • If your REALLY want it to sound good, type in &fmt=18 at the end of the url of this video, it puts the video in HQ AND full stereo sound. This works with a lot of the videos on youtube.

  • Looks good. Sounds like an excerpt from 'Moonraker' playing.

  • I like them both, but CBS digital's I prefer, it looks more like the original model.

  • I've been following his postings of this ship and the TDM project on the TrekBBS art Forum for ages, it is simply the best! :D

  • IMHO, not to slight the efforts of Daren Dochterman or the crews behind "New Voyages" and the other fan films, but Scott has created the best looking Enterprise I've ever seen.

His remake of "The Doomsday Machine" looks like it could kick CBSD's version right off the field.

  • CBS did many of the CGI work with cheap look, to intentionaly allow Paramount to remake the effects 10 years later, to get money once again from a new future edition.

  • I agree with you.

  • That looks fun.

  • After watching one of the new episodes with the cgi Enterprise I have to agree with you. This one is a lot better.

  • Hey - REALLY nice!

  • I agree spockboy.

  • The ship is beautiful, but the lighting looks phoney--it looks like there is a very bright star (or two) constantly shining on it.

  • this Scott Gammans can capture the essesance of the original model...thats something i've never seen a CG render do before

  • Wow! That was wonderful. Superb choice of music. John Berry is one of my favorite composers. I agree with you 110% on the TOS enhanced.

  • Can you tell me the name of the track or where it is from?

  • Yes,

the music is by John Barry from the James Bond film Moonraker. : )

  • "Bond Lured to Pyramid " right? The score is beautiful, especially when I think of Trek when I listen to it. Thanks a mil.

  • Sweet!

  • Wonderful! Amazing detail level.

  • That was beautiful recreation of the old girl I'v ever seen. Thank You!
