Loved it !! The plot itself wasn't great, but "Samir's" acting was exceptional, loved his expressions!!
Hmm also, I think there should have been more interaction with girls instead of Samir's very good looking, but um ..."metrosexual" looking friend. I have never seen a Desi guy wear a purple shirt with a black and white scarf before. yowza.

The thing about this film is that no matter if you're muslim, hindu, sikh, christian, or whatever - the story remains the same among all brown ppl.........parents are controlling, brown girls gossip, etc.... As brown guys, we all go through the same trials and tribulations........
The cast consists of ppl from all different religions. The film was made purely for kicks. If you hate it, that's amazing. If you love it, that's amazing.....

btw, islamic comedian Azhar Usman who was the guest host of the Mosquers absolutely loved "Samir's 30 Days"...
and getting praise from a pretty relevant entertainer from the muslim world is much more profound then receiving a negative response from a person that thinks American Pie is about a muslim that's trying to avoid an Arranged marriage.

My opinions don't follow the trend because of someone's endorsement. Azhar Usman is intelligent and brave, and a better person than I. But if he praises this film, I will say it is unitelligent of him and make no apologies.
Maybe when you grow up and are 16 years old, you will see some merit in what your are disagreeing with. Maybe not. At the very least I'm hoping you learn grammar/spelling basics.

A 'predominant east indian' (sic) cast, and the additions of token things you mentioned actually make this more along the lines o fa film such as Harold & Kumar. Throw in some minority identifiers to make it funny, but you are still adhering to a whiteboy, stoner film format - and sacrificing true distinctiveness in the process-right down to American Pie's toilet scene.
Why the personal insults and insult towards the Adhan and ignoring the range of modern Muslim music? Ask yourself that one.

- Muslim parents do not tell their children to 'find a girl', by means of speed dating, going to parties, and the like. This is atypical at best.
- The kind of arranged marriage portrayed here is not prevalent 'in Islam.' The Sunnah of marriage is alien to this type of forced, dont--so-much-as-see-the-girl 'marriage'.
-Adhan is the original, Arabic pronunciation. The 'dh' sound not existing in Urdu/Hindi, it becomes 'Azan', which is entirely valid. I prefer the original pronunciation, however.

Did you even watch the movie?The parents didnt tell him to go speed dating, partying, etc..they just told him to find a girl because he's an awkward loser that's going no where in life and has done nothing to garner interest from the opposite sex.
And with that said, this movie is a freaking comedy and not supposed to be taken seriously. Its not a documentary that discusses the steps and events of a typical arranged marriage.
