@brymacbluesband Clapton is the most everrated nothing guitarist since BB King. He's never played a single solo that turned anyone's head. Trower can say more with one note than Clapton can with 8 bars of noodling.

@gmdinformation ..what about Crossroads, Sunshine..and I believe he turned more people onto guitar than any other, as for Trower I admire what he has done, but give me a break, all he copied was where Hendrix left off....well sort off...and prey tell me off note who did Trower play with, or who did anyone want to play with him off note..my memory has gone..and i believ the word you were trying to say is OVERATE..not everrated..have you ever listened to Clapton at all, The Bluesbreakers album,

@brymacbluesband Where did Trower copy Hendrix? Name one song that sounds anything like Hendrix's crap? They play nothing alike. Clapton is just another run-o-the-mill guitarist who never played a solo in his life that any third year guitarist couldn't play. Chet Atkins made more people take up the guitar than anyone. And Phil Keaggy can play circles around all these cats put together on his worst day.

@gmdinformation ..oh dear, you must be the only person I know who cannot hear the influence from Hendrix to Trower, and as for Eric , leave him be, he has nothing to prove to any guitar player worth there salt, so many have mentioned him as an influence, his music, his playing and his knowledge, Trower is good, but not on the same path as Clapton..you must be an American, ?

I guess you mean "their" salt. How do you get influenced by someone who plays nothing but simply little ladder scales for every solo? The only people who ever got influenced by Clapton are those who play as bad as he does. If you really want to hear bad, listen to his acoustic playing.
