1 dimensional creatures can only see a zero dimensional point when looking at another one dimensional object/creature; however, take that object/creature away and they can see further into the first dimension. Same with the 2-D creature. He can see the line that composes his friend, but he can also see his friend from a distance away. 2 dimensional view. We have the ability to see our friends as a 2 dimensional figure, but also past them into the third dimension.
@shawnwilliams77 We can see them in 3 dimensions because they curve into the third dimension leaving more things to see past what we would see in 2 dimensions. This is depth. This is your fallacy. Each creature can see in their dimension. The 1D can see in 1D; 2D can see in 2D; and 3D can see in 3D.
What if we people are 4th dimensional beings (spirit) trapped in a 3rd dimensional body, so when you die a large amount of DMT is released in your brain and your spirit ascends towards the 4th dimension. Think about it the human body, money, cars, etc doesn't last forever cause time is for 3rd dimensional in the this world, but what if we aren't actually dying, we are actually waking up from this dream you humans call reality. Also I recommend to do research on DMT and think about reality
The only reason we can see depth is because we have 2 eyes, which lets us see depth from a different position. A fourth Dimentional creature would be able to see all apoints of a 3rd dimention space. Just like how a 3D creature can see all points of a 2 dimentional shape, and how a 2 dimentional creature can see all points of a line.
Well really what I see here is simply a 2D circle with added shading to make the illusion of it truly being a sphere. If it were in term a sphere then I would be able to see through like an orb or crystal ball if you would. 4D Are or See Or Create their 3D worlds. Based on simply math. I'm still contemplating various wide-vast-series-experiences of information sources, for understanding to the fullest I try.
I believe that thought exists in the fourth dimension of space time. I want to be an super gifted genius scientist so I can prove this with more than greater than anecdotal evidence.
You don't have a wild hypothesis, but I have to respectfully disagree. I don't belive in demensions because of the lack of proof. When it comes to art terms there are only two, three dimensional and two dimensionals.
we 3 dimension creatures see in 2D only. We see objects smaller as they are farther away and objects larger as they are closer, but still in 2D. thats why we can see on a flat tv screen what we would normally see in real life. 3d tv is not what we see in real life. 3d tv is the 4rth dimension! jk.
Ok the reason your wrong is that light makes it look like you see the depth in a sphere but you don't you see a multi-shaded circle but your mind obviously knows its 3d because everything in our universe is 3d.
Here, 1D creatures can only see 0D surfaces. 2D creatures can only see 1D surfaces. So 3D creatures can only see 2D surfaces. See, when you pulled up the sphere, we can assume that you mean that it is a sphere. But what our eyes perceived was a circle, though we could assume it is a sphere due to the shading on it. If we were 4D we would be able to see inside 3D objects like we can 2D surfaces. There
no that sphere at the end was a shaded circle....we would have to move around it to see if it had depth or not because we see in a 2d plane. we cannot see in the 3rd dimension because we live in it. we see in the 2nd dimension
Every dimension perceives things in one dimension lower than themselves, your own examples clearly show that. Even though your 'sphere' gives the illusion of having depth, look at what shape it is, it's merely a circle with shading. A true 4-dimensional entity would be able to see all sides of the sphere simultaneously. It could also see inside the sphere.
incorrect logic: we do see two dimensionally, but our eyes' 2d images combine to form a 3d illusion. still an interesting idea though, not trying to be mean.
Looking at a 1D creature in 1D, even if that creature is a 'line', you would see a point (a OD object). A second creature behind that one would be invisible, as there is no such thing as looking 'around'.
In 2D, you could perceive the 1D critter as a point or a line(0D or 1D), depending on how it is oriented. A second creature would be visible as a point or a line, or be partially or totally hidden by the first.
In 3D, you'd see the critter as a point or a line somewhere before you at some angle, depending on orientation. As you can now see above and/or below the object, you can perceive it's actual shape better.
In 4D (time), all the points the critter existed in is a single object. However, our own motion through 4D is point-to-point along that dimension, giving us snapshots of the other 3 Dimensions in sequence. A 4D critter would see the other 3Ds at once. We are 3D creatures moving in 4D space.
I disagree, because in your final picture that you claim to be a "sphere" is actually just a circle with different colors. We cannot tell if it is a multi-colored circle or if it is all 1 solid color and a sphere with lighting to shade it. We still see it as a 2d object, we just assume it is 3d because that is how we are used to thinking and perceiving objects.
I am not saying you are WRONG, I am just stating that I disagree, and my reasoning for disagreeing.
I like Animation. 2D drawings acting like they're in 3D when in fact, they are only on a piece of paper. Maybe we are on a piece of 3D paper or space and are trying to act like 4D creatures. Still, I love Animation.
I considered this for a short time, but this poses two problems:
1) We would then be missing a 3-dimensional world - we know what one, two, and (in this case what we would be calling) "four" dimensions are like, but where's the third one now?
2) This is the one that really proves it, and is most definitive - we can feel three dimensions, but actually - technically - we can't SEE three. We only see two, but light and shade and touch make us understand all three. I recommend reading the book
That's just it, we only know it is a sphere because we see the shading, and because we guess. Suppose it was a sphere that was actually a cylinder with a hemisphere ontop. To anyone looking down on it, they would see what they thought would be a sphere, only by guessing what was on the other side, only by rotating it, could we see the true shape (i.e. it's depth). You said that you didn't shade your objects. That's the only difference between the square you showed us and the sphere.
there are 3 dimensions plus the dimension of time making 4 dimensions but thats only if you see it in a scientific way otherwise were just 3 dimensional
We still see it as 2 dimensional, but we just understand that it's 3 dimensional. It's like the geometrical objects see things as one dimensional, but they are aware that it's a 2 dimensional object. If we were 4-d creatures, we would be able to see things from all points of view of a 3-d perspective. For example, that last object you showed kind of showed a 3-d cross section of this object. For all we know, it could be like a cone attatched to a hemisphere or something.
The one flaw in your theory is that we do not actually see a sphere. We do in fact see in a 2-dimensional plane, but our minds "see" it as 3-d because of the fact that we know that we live in a 3-d world.
nice video, but sorry your wrong. DRINKINGFOOD has got the answer, because we have 2 eyes we see in what can be descibed as 2.5D. Our eyes see two slightly different 2D images and merge them so that our brain can percieve depth. However this isnt true 3D vision (only a 4D being can properly see in the 3rd dimension etc.)
@recurveninja close one eye and don't move the pupil of your open eye.what you see is 2d,only reason you perceive it as 3d is because of your prior knowledge that you live in a 3d world.Ask some one with a lazy eye, or with one eye how difficult it is to perceive distance with just one eye.
We only see planes. When you view an object you can only see one face, (or pieces of many faces in the case of a sphere), and you "see" a three dimensional object because of the way your brain interprets it. If you saw a sphere for the first time, and had never been able to examine and rotate one before, you would only see a circle.
I disagree. Near the end you say, "We see a sphere here not a circle." In fact think of it this way. The 2 dimensional creature only see's 1 dimension. The 3 dimensional creature see's 2 dimensions. What I saw was a shaded circle, but still a circle. We only see in 2 dimensions, up and down. In order to see the other side of an 8 ball you must turn it around to see because we cannot see in 3 dimensions, only 2. (This is my theory and I'm not saying you are wrong, I just think you're wrong.)
You don't see a sphere. You see a circle with shading. Any dimension could have light, just our 3 dimensional world allows us to view it. A 4 dimensional being can perceive depth. They'd be able to see through anything, humans, walls, anything.
I heard were entering the fourth density after December 3 ,2013. So its not ganna happen in that time but after that date. So lately I been seing and feeling weird. I also had soo much paranormal stuff than ever before. And my Clairvoyance had advanced at a state. That I can predict stuff.
It's a very interesting idea. I like that you've explored your hypothesis and tried to visualize it. I'd like to point out just one thing. You know how when we look at a square from the side (or a circle for that matter) how we can see the entire object all at the same time? All 4 sides, the inside, everything? That's the part that's missing. No one can see all sides of a box or a sphere at the same time without distorting it - so I think that means were stuck here in the 3rd dimension. :-)
with your hypothesise, we see everything in 3d so we are 4d creatures, right?
WRONG!!! We see everything as a shape, so we are in 3rd dimension. or can you look behind things? 4d being might be able to, but we can't imagine a 4th direction. Our brain can only create pictures of tings we have seen before or that is familiar to things we have seen before. but actually a 4d beeing lives in space, but can leave it any time. I would write more, but the comment is limited to 400 letters.

Hhmmm. Well the difference between your 3 dimensional creature and us humans is that we have to eyes. The combination of these two images are processed by our brain into a partial 3 image. A perfect 3d image would view all sides of a 3d object, as well as all the space inside of it, regardless of color.
However... If you look at the 4th dimension as time, then technically humans can be considered 4th dimensional, because we exist in 3 spacial dimensions and 1 time dimension, togethr making 4.

@DRINKINGF00D Though time could very well be a spatial dimension of it's own and we are simply limited to experiencing it's spatial qualities by the parameters of our 3-dimensions.
