I am an autobody tech, and the method used is extremely difficult to use on cars. (No adjustment)

The easy way to apply any 3m, Decal or Vinyl would be to

use glass cleaner in an aerosol can. Allowing you to move the decal around if your not happy with its current position, and much easier to remove air bubbles.

Everything else is accurate.

I'd use a heat gun or hair dryer after I'm happy with its location because the decal will shrink

the vinyl (imitation) you can find it at any autoshop and the real carbon fiber (is very expensive and absolutely different and so much harder to work) you can find it at any resin and/or polyester store, the place where you get fibergalss and that stuffs
