simply stunning and devastating. this and aeris's death have to be the hardest-hitting moments in game history and the crowning achievements of uematsu's career.
Yeah a lot of memories are tied to this game for me. A good one everytime I died I the game would start you off at the last save and there was no game over scene so I would tell y brother that I hadnt died yet. Worked good until he got into the game. thanks dude.
I remember first renting this game as an 11 or 12 year old. I couldn't play it at all and didn't understand the topic or themes in the least bit. I very slowly progressed in it and began to understand the powerful themes, and how tragic and unhappy the game world was. Genocide. Hate. Contempt. Distrust. Heartbreak. Loneliness. Betrayal. Hopelessness. Futility. Suicide. I didn't complete it until I was 18. I think I truly grew up playing this game.
Me and my girlfriend are into games especially rpg's like this. I wanna dance with her while this song plays, kiss her, and tell her I love her so very much. :)
I agree with everyone else. The music from Final Fantasy 6 have always been the most inspirational for me. Whenever I hear them, especially those that have been remixed well, always makes my mind wander and draw into a world of contemplation and emotion. Such heartfelt songs. Final Fantasy 6 will always remain as my favorite game of all time. This remix is beautifully accomplished! Thank you!
@trancelistic i know. im hoping they release them as ps1 classics on the playstation store. i could get it for my ps2 but itd be more fun if i could play where and whenever i want. i used to have it for gba but traded it in cause i was 13 and felt geeky. now i couldnt give a crap. same with kingdom hearts lol
@ junoproject - The plot with mog is the most depressing in the WoR. You enter narshe and Lone wolf says theres nothing left but a moogle and some treasures.
The only sense of happiness found in this game is at the ending, where everyone finds closure. It intrigues to know whether or not Shadow truly dies at the end, his change of character is perhaps the most apparent in the game. Man... i sure i hope i get to see a remastered version of this game for next gen consoles in my life time. That would be bliss.
The story behind this song is so heart breaking :( so fuckin sad guys. the only happy part in this game is beating it and seeing the end honestly, the rest is all sadness really.
The tragic aspect of this game is what made it far superior than any other FF i've played. This game never ceases to amaze me no matter how many playthroughs i've done.. the characters, their individual sorrows, the plot, the music. this game is perfection. Its so immersive. You feel and understand each character's personal scars. Just recalling, Shadow's distrust of others, Cyan's family, Gau's Father, Terra's absence of love, Locke and Rachel, Edgar and Sabin's cointoss. All equally memorable

Wayyy to much vibrato on the flute. Fix it and this would be quite good.

i hope they remake this game for the psp (a ps3 version would be good too but i dont have one yet lol).
hdzrk86 1 year ago
@hdzrk86 There are "3in1" cd's for ps1.
Its called final fantasy trioligy, and another one, but i forgot the name of that.
But each cd (game) has 3 parts of the older Final fantasies (1,2,3,4,5,6) They also included some new video's on the cd thats part of the game(s)
Have fun m8:)

This mix is so good that someone on TV Tropes linked to it because it conveys the sorrow of the scene so well.

Could I get a link to that? :D

PS - Unless of course you decide to save Mog, and are able to nurse Grandpa back to health, since you only get one chance to do so. :)
junoprojekt 2 years ago 2
And this is why FFVI is the best after FF and FFVII doesnt even have the right to try to claim this title.
Yes, the first one is the best, because of the story behind the game, not the story in the game.
