I didn't say anything about his sound. He has a beautiful sound. At this point I agree with you.

In this song for me he plays like some of the politicians are talking today. The sentences are constructed correctly but the content has nothing to do with the topic. That's my opinion.

This piece is so beautiful...Rich's solo is so perfect on this! if you haven't checked him out, find Rich's records on steeplechase. He is argueably the most lyrical and meaningful tenor cat out there right now and should be remembered as one of the greats.

oh, and Rick Margitza played tenor prior to Donny McCaslin. Bob Sheppard may have been on earlier albums such as Evanescence, but no recent recordings.

Rick Margitza was on Evanescence, Coming About, Allegresse and Days of Wine and Roses. Bob Sheppard has subbed for MSO often. I've seen them three times and twice, Rich Perry was not there. Those times Scott Robinson and Chris Cheek playing the Tenor 1 book. Everyone in this group are heavy players, and it's not their only gig.
