@Kaikara05 You know, I was just thinking the same thing. Cameron wrote the script in the mid 80's and it was seen to fruition in 95. But it never felt as appropriate as it does today.
@fathermulcahyisrad God you aint lying. So underrated mate!!! Excellent script, the movie kept me on the edge of my seat. Music was perfectly placed in each scene of the movie, especially this last song with all the confetti flying everywhere in downtown L.A. Vanilla sky and Strange days are my all time favorite movies mostly b/c of the perfect music placement. When a piece of music evokes an emotion during a certain scene, it's a slice of heaven for me
This song is without argument one of the sexiest and most erotic & sensual songs ever recorded. Thumbs up from those who agree. ;) And ladies, try listening this song with your man and the two of you are alone. Just TRY to resist instantly stripping naked, I dare ya to try. hehe lol :D
@SeriuxFan i might be a geek for thinking too much into it I hella relate to Lenny cuz after a night of work I like drinking and watching videos that make think back when times were simpler
Not at all. I like it too. I like cheesy stuff though. I like to see industrious people doing the best they can with what they got. It doesn't take away from the story or performance to me. >;)
This song was an incredible ending to Strange Days. Lenny beats on the police car window, opens the door and drags Mace out into the NYE 2000 crowd. She looks like what is this about and he looks at her like he's never seen her and then he sees it written all over her face that she loves him. He grabs her with this completely intense look and slowly kisses his eyes and begins to kiss her...this music sounds like them MELTING. ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIE KISSES!
I agree except when Lenny pulls Mace from the car and looks at her, I got the feeling he was really seeing her for the first time. As a woman. And realized THIS was the one he'd been looking for all along. That kiss came from Lenny's soul. But you're right, this song fit that moment perfectly!!
@Trund27 It's one of Basset's Best performances . I always recommend this Movie to my friends . The message of the song is truth " in this moment it can come together or fall apart " .
I remember when I bought the CD for this movie, having never heard of the movie or seen it. This song was one of the few I liked. Actually that's an understatement; I FECKING LOVE THIS SONG! I wasn't expecting to find it, and I'm extremely happy I did.
@zumie94 Would happen to have or know where to find the film version of this song? The version that was played at the end of movie sounds different than the album version.
@mscubana This is the song from the soundtrack. I believe the only difference from the movie ending version is that they removed some lyrics so you can hear the actors scene?
@zumie94 The music being played at the end of the film when Lenny and Mace finally lock lips is most likely a part of Graeme's composed score. I think it's "Y2K New Year's Kiss" or "Y2K New Year's Kiss (Alternate)." I've been searching all weekend to acquire the soundtrack for the film's original score, only to find deleted download links. I can't find a place to buy it online either.
@zumie94 well, Graeme echoes this music throughout the film (it's almost the theme for the film) - at the end, all they do is add drums to the strings and Lori's vocal. it's much more stripped down.
@mscubana I wish. though the film version is played with no other sound, so if you have the ability to record audio from DVDs, you can get the closing version of Fall in the Light pretty easily
I just watched this movie after more than ten years it's the first time I saw it...I have no idea how it got on my hardrive...was probably trying to download something else....but this movie was best!!! And I had no idea that Juliette Lewis was a singer! Imagine that...talk about me living in a damn bubble! But I love her version of Can't Wait and Rid of Me
this song is unspeakably beautiful. every time i listen to it it makes me cry, it's so poignant and emotional and beautiful. amazing movie too, i'm surprised it's not more well-known
I always reserved a lot of emotion, but this song brought it out for some reason...I bought this soundtrack for one song, then stumbled across it again later. It held a lot of resonance
i always getting lost in memories when i hear that song.. its so freaking stop motion and the whole earth stand still.. one of the best songs ever...

damn, hard to find this song on Pandora, if i could though I would love to have a station/stream dedicated to it, if anyone has any comprable songs to recommend let me know. So awesomely chill to listen to when it's raining and I love songs like that.
Interestingly neither Lori Carson or Graeme Revell have this song, like, available or searchable, it's kind of weird. I presume Lori did this song and Graeme techno mixed it, right?
meh, i'm listening to it right now, and although I haven't finished it yet, I really don't see the connection....I mean, it has some tech elements, but is there anything else about it that you felt would make someone that likes this song like that one? I dunno, it was kind of meh....
not sure if this will be helpful, but the song reminded me a bit of annie lennox's cover of don't let it bring you down. originally written by neil young.
I get lost in this song when I hear it. It's a song that are meant for two poeple that truely love each other, in such a world of chaos can make it if they just do it together!

Yeah it never gets any love, When I first saw the Matrix and everyone was going on about it I was like "It was good, like Strange Days with Kung Fu" and all I got was - huh?
