The training gear was a safety as the deck has gaps and could have trapped the skids, The traing gear is anyway gone and this heli is joined by an A109 with a 4 blade and a TRex 600 two blade flybarless :)
I agree 100%, If you can only fly tail in when you take this puppy out and it ends up in a unfamiliar orientation the you will have to get the bin liner out of the car....
Sorry it took so long to reply but I work overseas and when I am there YouTube is blocked by the fire wall. If you are asking about the mechanics I fix the front with two small screws and then use a zip lock strap through the frame and under the ply base.
The current 5 blade head is a LightningHeli that I got from Flying-Hobby. The blades are MS Composite and around 260mm long. They come in sets of three. I am going to change the head to a better engineered one from HeliArtist. The LightningHeli head took a lot of rework as the quality was not too hot. While I have it working there is some vibrationI can't get rid off.
I am told it is possible to fly them without additional gyro's but I have not tried. This one is fitted with a Captron HeliCommand Rigid that is designed for "flybarless" systems such as the five blade.
The training gear was just insurance until I knew if it was going to have any bad habits as it spun up. (Also the deck in the picture has grooves in it and it would have locked the skids)
secondo me è un po da pazzi alzare quell'ely al chiuso , è molto rischioso stai attento ! ! ! ! ! ! BILANCIA LE PALE CIAO

Why?...
Have fun with a standard Kit .. when you have mastered or killed a few....go onto a 5 Blade ..it only works on a heli that you can see?...:)

Nice, but you need to lose the training gear. Then balance the blades and check for tracking.
I would suggest mastering non-inverted flight in all directions/orientations on a flybarred helicopter before moving onto a multi bladed rotor head.

would suck if crashed 5 blades wood or carbon???

Yes especially the blades on it as they are very small CF blades that are quite expensive for their size.

Could you tell me where you got your 5 blade head from and what blades you're using?
Thanks.

you may need fly higher to avoid ground effect
napoleonbot 3 years ago
Yes you are right about ground effect, mind having quite a small rotor diameter it gets out quite quickly.

Do you need anything extra i.e. gyros etc when running a 5 blade head? Am thinking of getting a 5 blade head for my rex.

Looks real GOOD though. I wish they made these scale fuselages for my t-rex 500 already.

I'm confused; how come you have a scale fuselage, a five blade rotor head AND training gear?
