MLG players can thank casual players because HONESTLY, gears did not get where it is today because of the Competitive style. I got here because of the casual style. We all know gears is where is is because of two reasons, Sniper Montages, and Gnasher shotgun battles. The gnasher made this game what it is. Gears 1 was very Competitive, but a different form of it, nobody wanted to see people hiding lancering, its not how things were done. It's not how gears should be played at all, IMO.

Depends on who you play with. I see alot of older people on gears compared to CoD. Im from NZ so i generally play with aussies and new zealanders and they all seem alright maybe one or two talk shit but usually they end up losing anyways.

I don't know why but this game and this Game only that has the worst community I have ever seen, being small as it is. 1 in a hundred matches I get a simple gg, if we had a great shotty fight with opponents mvp etc, but 50% of that 100 matches you will get smack talks by whatever means you pull a win against them. And as far as it not making it onto the circuit without you guys, that is simply not true. Many devs and different personnel from MLG are working with competitive players and taking our opinions into consideration on how to make the game better (for example changing weapon spawns on Trenches to reflect the Hype Festation settings). Even if you go onto Twitch, many of the competitive players have Quinn DelHoyo and Petenub in their streams watching and interacting.
I myself am a competitive player, and in all honesty Falloutt is quite possibly the most down-to-earth competitive player I've ever met next to arCtiC. I'm not saying all competitive players are nice, because that is simply not true (not naming any names). And the same can be said about the casual players. Most are nice and easy to play some pubs with, but others can just be straight douchebags. The Gears community for the most part is good, but we tend to be overshadowed by a few bad apples.
In all honesty, I think it's just because the GoW community sucks in general. I don't get how the shittiest people all flock to such a great game. When have you ever heard "gg" or "good game" in voice chat after a match? Nope, it's "get raped faggot" if you lose, or "y'all are fuckin' faggots" if you win. But yeah, for some reason everyone in this game is some racist, mouth-breathing, Affliction wearing d-bag out to prove how hard they are over xbox live... and steal your kills for their k/d.

When games got people to play competitively like CoD for instance. people forgot the main point of games are having fun and enjoying yourself. The GoW3 community is shit imo. It's been shit since GoW1. No matter how much a few people change their ways when playing online from talking shit and tea-bagging. The majority of the community is filled with nothing but a bunch of assholes. Don't get me wrong, GoW3 is an amazing game. Best in its series by far. But man the community just sucks. It's not just GoW, but also with CoD and Halo. No matter what the game, if it's online it's just gonna be shit no matter what.

I don't know anyone who looks up to or tries to copy MLG players, not in gears anyway. I remember when MLG gaming was getting exposure with Halo with Karma and Walshy and all that. But, with games like this, I think the people who can present more exciting gameplay are more fun to watch/emulate. I think people should just be nicer and stop comparing, though. People have different play styles, some more exciting to watch than others.
LB, Iceman and GG are like my three favourite Youtubers so it's a shame you can't all get along. As a fan I'd love to see GG, Godmode, JonnyB, Cal Vs Spev, LB, Ice and Advocate maybe just in straight TDM as I think it would be more fun to watch you guys just goofing around hitting clips and chilling in a party chat than all this competitive stuff.

The Heartbreakers/Control guys (Goldglove in particular) have said multiple times that even though they play gb matches they don't consider themselves "competitive," so that's why they were expecting an all Kaos team.

Honestly both contribute to getting the community biger because us youtube players begin by makin the community bigger but then the mlg players are the ones who actually play the circuts. Get me? I personally used to be ml for rainbo six and it was fun and all but i was getting tired of stopping what i was doing for clan matches and all. Depends on who you play with. I see alot of older people on gears compared to CoD. Im from NZ so i generally play with aussies and new zealanders and they all seem alright maybe one or two talk shit but usually they end up losing anyways.

I don't know why but this game and this Game only that has the worst community I have ever seen, being small as it is. 1 in a hundred matches I get a simple gg, if we had a great shotty fight with opponents mvp etc, but 50% of that 100 matches you will get smack talks by whatever means you pull a win against them. Good HB? You use a mod, Good shotty? You are a fag. This is not including ingame T-Bagging etc. Gears player need to play RTS game to see how grownups respect each other in a game.

And as far as it not making it onto the circuit without you guys, that is simply not true. Many devs and different personnel from MLG are working with competitive players and taking our opinions into consideration on how to make the game better (for example changing weapon spawns on Trenches to reflect the Hype Festation settings). Even if you go onto Twitch, many of the competitive players have Quinn DelHoyo and Petenub in their streams watching and interacting.

I myself am a competitive player, and in all honesty Falloutt is quite possibly the most down-to-earth competitive player I've ever met next to arCtiC. I'm not saying all competitive players are nice, because that is simply not true (not naming any names). And the same can be said about the casual players. Most are nice and easy to play some pubs with, but others can just be straight douchebags. The Gears community for the most part is good, but we tend to be overshadowed by a few bad apples.

The GoW3 community is shit imo. It's been shit since GoW1. No matter how much a few people change their ways when playing online from talking shit and tea-bagging. I don't know anyone who looks up to or tries to copy MLG players, not in gears anyway. I remember when MLG gaming was getting exposure with Halo with Karma and Walshy and all that. But, with games like this, I think the people who can present more exciting gameplay are more fun to watch/emulate. I think people should just be nicer and stop comparing, though.
