I saw Possessed at BB King in 3/5/2012. I've been in the scene for over 30 years and for the first time I can say this about any band:

The new lineup is better than the "classic" lineup

The formula is Jeff's vocals, divebombing/tremolo guitar solos and a snare drum with a pop with the remo toms thrown in.

Given that all new metal sucks and all other old bands still on tour out there have overextended their shelf life, that makes this version of Possessed the best active band in the scene no

To say the uniqueness, the originality, the blast will be gone and Possessed will be like hundreds of other bands - interchangeable with no true identity. Real fans have noticed from the beginning that there is something about those twisted compositions from Mike that can't be found somewhere else. Got me? That will all be lost now. The magic will be gone. And as a fan from zero hour I cannot just simply NOT LISTEN.

I have always tripped out on those who say, "Possessed just isn't right without all the 80s members". Everyone quit on me and I am only getting started man! How many bands had members quit on them but just kept on keeping on? It is not only the right thing to do, but the only thing to do! Thanks for all our supporters through these 27 or so years you are the inspiration that drives us. Just finished listening to some of our new song rough tracks that we are busy trying to make into killers! :)

Jeff, you still kick ass!! Keep possessed alive. I used to be in an underground death metal band called "Phantasm" back in the early 90's. You guy's were a big influence on us. Our 1st show was in 1989 with Dr.Shrinker. We did a cover of Possessed (phantasm). The crowd loved it !!! Stay wicked and don't worry about one goofball's comments.

@mattersburg71 Speak for yourself,I'm European & have great respect for Jeff still keeping Possessed alive.If it's because there is only one original member, then a lot of bands should stop now.F.ex. Crowbar(only Windstein is original), Dying Fetus(only Gallagher is original) I could carry on. As long as the band stay true to original material, no problem. I remember when I bought 7 Churches when it was released.Who are u to tell a musician to stop? Are u a Metal God? Its soo easy= Don't Listen!

@NorthernPanzer666 In all bands with just one original member it is the creative soul that holds the flame. No one can compose the true Possessed sound except Torrao or Lalonde, get it already! If that Kelly writes a song it will always sound like Pessimist and not Possessed. Songs become interchangeable with all the bands they are in. As long as they only play live, they shall but please no new material or change f..name! That would harm the legacy. Sure he can do as he likes but see above...

@mattersburg71 You're right they dont have Torrarro/LaLonde,but you can listen to Larry Lalonde in Primus, which just tells me that Jeff still have the passion for metal,but Lalonde won't barely speak of his time in Possessed.Incredible he isn't more proud to have his name standing on the Seven Churches LP+ more.Let the band release new stuff & lets see.Jeff is the leadsinger,so it should be easy to listen to the old material too.But I get your point.The legacy of Possessed must not be harmed.

@NorthernPanzer666 Yes, we can't do anything else and hope the best. If Jeff just continues live then why the hell not he shall. But not taint the legacy! It's a shame what Larry and the Mikes are thinking of this today but that's what one has to respect. I tried to get in contact with Torrao and even brought him to think about going back but then he vanished into lawnmowing oblivion again. Such a pity! I hope you see that I am not a hater just feel like a heart-broken. Peace.

@mattersburg71 Absolutely, I was a bit hard in my first answer to you, but no offense,nothing personal.I can see you know your Possessed,which is always a pleasure.I was shocked when Becerra was shot, but shit happens, he seems to have a great time,but still, it has to be clearly that it is Possessed, NOT Death Metal w/ Becerra as frontman.Let's just hope the new album is a killer.I havent heard Pessimist as you refer to.It's clearly to see you aren't a Hater.Sounds like Torraro is way of track.

@NorthernPanzer666 I have been in "near" contact with Torrao for a short time but this guy is too stubborn. It is unbelievable. One cannot understand his "point" of view of today. Even one of his closest friends turned angry on him because he doesn't want to get back to the scene. This band seems to be cursed. It will only work with Becerra AND Torrao in one boat. It didn't work 1990-1993 and will not work 2007 on. Have you read about this interview with Larry if it is not fake Jeff should talk.
