I learned from police, and I pass on those safety and responsibility lessons to all shooters I practice with. No sense taking chances on getting shot in a friendly fire incident.
@InsanePickle007 If you tried taking out a deer with a .22 pistol, chances are very slim that you would actually kill it - you couldn't get close enough to ensure a kill shot. Others you could kill, but it would take hours for death. Certain animals are impossible to kill with most common calibers - elk, for one, have enough hide and muscle that they can simply absorb multiple .22 rounds.
When I asked that question, it came with the unstated caveat 'reasonably kill'. Always use big enough guns.
you're very responsibe with the gun, i respect that.

Well, you don't start a greenhorn (and one that weighs less than I can bench-press) on a 1911.
Other than squirrel or rabbit, what would you hunt with a short-barrel 22 pistol?

@CSSstravag a gun is a gun. Trust me, getting shot with ANY gun, is bad.

@InsanePickle007 Oh yes, this I know.

@CSSstravag Well then why would you say hunting anything except for small animals with a 22 pistol is useless??
