@tempranight it does have better graphics you just need a good computer. you can set the graphics to a higher level. plus they get a bigger amount of players if regular people can play

I agree - for your next video, get someone who has been in SecondLife for a little while, that has an appealing avatar, with an appealing walk and fly animation override, dressed nicely. And somewhere with a little more interest in the background would also make this more eye catching. What about Chakryn Forest or Cathedral or any of the myriad fine builds in SL. All that being said, I'm intrigued by the idea of the 3d camera :)

The areas I have with a computer don't use space that way, so I would have to move around a cluttered environment to make this work. Also, I have dogs and cats - what happens when they enter the frame?
Lastly, it's all very well to get rid of a mouse and keyboard (and yes, you can probably use Voice), but what happens when you need to select something off one's inventory, or use a keyboard. Will it still track you and interpret things?

heh, yeah it is another world. Good for people having no time or not othervise able to travel, scuba, meet people etc. in real world. It is so easy to just pop in for an hour or so... go see the Taj Mahal then New York... after it perhaps in a strip-joint or a dance club. Chat with your friends. I just read about this camera and its already pretty far down the line. Before too long it will be for sale for $100 and useable with anything, not just Second Life
This program is entirely too laggy, I check in every few months to check on if it's less laggy, not so. It's a cool program but IMO it has a very long way to go before it is really enjoyable fully, without lag.
Great progress Lindens! What would be really cool though, if RL free moving gestures could be brought into SL, ie: I wave my hand, my hand waves in SL, etc. - IE: Do away with poses, use RL poses!
Also, im wondering about flying, if I have to hold my hands at my waste most of the time, or i go down, could get tiring.
This looks like fascinating tech! The video refers to 3D webcams... I would be interested to know if the software on the backend could be extended for use with normal webcams. I'll have to read up on those.

it asks "ID Method" after i put in my birthday. I put paypal down, since it
doesnt let me get passed that page until I select that.
Then, it says "Billing info." and its on the paypal sign in/register page.
If I say, "Cancel", it says "registration unavailable"

we also have fully operational mentor-system... unfortunatedly we do not have enough mentors for every island 24/7 most likely you landed on a graveyeardshift-hour
it is now possible to land directly to somewhere on the main grid, if you have the address that is.

You have to remember, that all LL provides are the viewer and the land, everything else you see on main grid are user-made contents... that is why there seldom is any tutorials how to navigate in your shoestore...

heh, yeah it is another world. Good for people having no time or not othervise able to travel, scuba, meet people etc. in real world. It is so easy to just pop in for an hour or so... go see the Taj Mahal then New York... after it perhaps in a strip-joint or a dance club. Chat with your friends. Lot to learn before you can actually do anything.
I am making a "living" as a hair maker in SL, almost 4 years now.

Well it just dont depends on the tecnology how it looks thats just a bad made Avatar, there are much more who really looks realistic and more well made. You skills to change and modify your Avatar are important.

I just read about this camera and its already pretty far down the line. Before too long it will be for sale for $100 and useable with anything, not just Second Life

This program is entirely too laggy, I check in every few months to check on if it's less laggy, not so. It's a cool program but IMO it has a very long way to go before it is really enjoyable fully, without lag.

It's not the program it's the internet connection. This program is way ahead of it's time. We just don't have fast enough internet yet.

Great progress Lindens! What would be really cool though, if RL free moving gestures could be brought into SL, ie: I wave my hand, my hand waves in SL, etc. - IE: Do away with poses, use RL poses!
Also, im wondering about flying, if I have to hold my hands at my waste most of the time, or i go down, could get tiring.

This looks like fascinating tech! The video refers to 3D webcams... I would be interested to know if the software on the backend could be extended for use with normal webcams. I'll have to read up on those.
