  • PAY ATTENTION to when they show the DOODLE. it obviously upside down paper with 666, 333, pentagrams and some weird pixilated street address.

  • Hey thats really entertaining I gotta see the whole movie!

  • The judge went on play the Senate Majority Leader in "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and Mr. Gower in "It's a Wondeful Life".

Looks like he was one of Capra's favorites.

  • @toddsmitts It's an interesting story. H B Warner played Christ for DeMille in King of Kings 1928. Demille had a spiritual experience on set while the Passion was dramatized, dedicating the next 7 yrs of his films to God, but the actor was typecast as Jesus & could not get work. Capra had by the '30's hit upon his "formula" (well before Carl Jung/Joseph Campbell Power of Myth criticism btw) & used Warner becuz of the Jesus typecasting, even adding a scene for him in You Can't Take It With You.

  • Gary Cooper was amazing in this movie and this is one of the best comedies ever, I think.

  • So, whoa, is this where the word "doodle" came from.

  • There is supposed to be a question mark at the end of that sentance.

  • and there is suppose to be a letter e at the end of sentence.

  • tuba player!

everyone [even me] has a fidgeting problem,

    to help oneself think.

  • anyone catch a glimpse of lionel stander he was the housekeeper in "hart to hart"

  • @phantomxr His character was one of the few things they didn't carry over when they made the Adam Sandler version. I liked the remake a lot but it would've been interesting to see someone's take on that.

  • @toddsmitts People have no idea the amount of thought and time Capra and Riskin put into figuring out this characterization and storyline; even though they had a short story to work from. Sandler's version is a slapstick pastiche.

  • @phantomxr Without Lionel Stander in this film, it would not have worked. Today, this sort of romantic comedy is nearly a cliche, but in 1936, it was a huge huge hit. Cooper is unbelievable. Try to see this on a clean print on a big screen.

  • Gary Cooper diagnosed me! I'm an O-filler AND a knuckle cracker!
