Also grew up in Glendale -- went to Hoover High. I can remember military aircraft flying in and out during the Korean War. My friend Larry, who lived on Sonora, and I used to go down to the end of the runway and watch the planes land. We were asked to move because the pilots didn't like seeing kids so close to where they were landing. Those were the days!

I learned to fly at Grand Central in 1954-55. Sad to see the condition of the tower now.
I'm now long retired living on an airpark still flying.

I have lived in glendale for 40 yrs., at one time it was a nice place to live. WAS!!!
