  • The worst piano player of the 20th century

  • YOU lucky one, who lived in the same Building and listened from the Roof Top. I was equally as lucky, I lived in his Parents home when he was 20, played till 2 and 4am. I treasure every note he plays.

  • This is not the speed of his official recording. It is fascinating to see how he thinks of the recording. So he spliced not because of mistakes but to create the perfect recording, just amazing. I think the public would have been perfectly satisfied with any of his takes, but he was trying to create a perfect recording, Yes, he died too soon, but you have a lot of recordings and he lives through the music he created.

  • I'm getting crazy for this Artist, his use of piano, his tecnique, it's wonderful, but i ask to myself, why a genius must die so prematurely?

  • One of my favorite ones !

the slow tempo accentuates the emotion ...

brings tears to my eyes !....

  • Thanks for sharing this video. Gould is absolutely divine !

  • Dam right!

  • humming is part of Glenn

    he never gave up

  • Damn right haha

  • This performance is a tear jerker!

  • Notice he even had the old man 'humming along'...guess it's contagious, eh? This is but another look at the creativity of the maestro in the process of creating. And such a friendly way about him when he's with others, I can never agree with the idea that he was the 'misanthrope' that he's usually portrayed to be! Always seems such a jolly and good hearted guy. Someone you could go around the corner and have a nice glass of wine with after recording! ;-}

  • "PRINT IT!" -- "SPLENDID!" -- "DAMN RIGHT!" Then, the big smile! :-) Oh, I loved this one! Thank you, p0lyph0ny! (I think he was very pleased with himself here, don't you)? As well he should have been! A "Master at Work" ~ the brilliance and the perfection are always there, aren't they? I am constantly amazed & enthralled! Bravo, Glenn Gould! Bravo!

  • Bach + Gould. Gould + Bach. Wonderful!

  • Just Sublime......

  • I like how he resonates so sweetly and quietly...

  • So sweetly played.

  • wonderful!

    where is this taken from?

  • It's a Bruno Monsaingeon film, I believe it's the one called The Alchemist (L'Alchimiste in french)

  • wonderful

  • Yes, it is. I just uploaded 5 other GG videos, so be sure to check those out too!
