That show at the church was one of my all time favorites. Chased out a bunch of nazis that showed up to start shit. The energy of the kids in the crowd that night was amazing.
Saw them two times in spokane I believe at the church on monroe and at the steel workers hall. No other band could compare to their stage preformance.
Lights went off and all the people got around a couple of barrils with fire and the whole damn percussion was hipnotizing. Back then i didnt know they were anarchist, so i regret today not to understand the whole message in those days!
"Gone, but not even remotely close to forgotten. Tchkung bred agents. Who's strong enough to pick up where they left off?"
the social dynamics of the world have changed. Surveillance and repression at an all time high. Its a question of popular rebellion and if people care enough to pull away from their PS3's.....doubtful.
@wwillwalker93 In the 90's I was married to on of the band members father...I remember sending the "kids" as I would have called them off to San Francisco in a 1971 VW bus...they ended up in Seattle....saw them play onece in Norman...performce artists and very tribal...the band no longer exists...but my stepson says he now plays in a marching band and I assume it is full of drums and great.
@nmccoin1 - I seen em in Victoria Coast Salish Territory before dec 99, can't remember exactly when, got some cool stickers, had a CD for a while and chatted with one of the dudes, it was cool.
@wwillwalker93 Rick Wilson is currently imprisoned as a political fall guy.. Tchkung made waves! They spread anarchy! They were angry.. as all of us should be!!
I remember these guys. Very tribal experience, really neat. First time I ever miked a grinder. :) Anyone remember the Ho-Down Center in Tri-Cities, WA?
I have post world industries. I... sorta knew them. A little bit. We belonged to the same union, and they threw a benefit show for us. Probably the best live show I've ever been to. I can't promise to get the rest of the album up, but I'll see what I can do.
How has Seattle changed? Did things get messed up after the W.T.O. riots? I've just started researching this, kinda before my time. My brother introduced me to !tchKung!, wish I could have seen them live.
All i have to say is Moe's Moe rockin cafe Seattle, holy shit was that a fucking crazy riot after the show cars and dumpsters on FIRE! good times!

I'm still upset the cops stopped the modest mouse show after they played their third song... but ya, my first show: Black Happy at the hoedown.
