But the musicians they're playing with are forced to try to support Pete by himself, or Carl by himself,and the effect is shlocky and embarrassing. Pete doesn't have the aggresssiveness to take down a crowd, and Carl doesn't have the charisma to woo them.
They had the perfect formula: the good looking sneering a-hole(Carl) and the good looking stoned angel.(Pete) Together they were hot and sexy. Now they each try to lead their own bands, but they are surrounded y non-charsimatic, non-showmen musicians.

both the strokes and the libertines are influenced by a similar style of music called garage rock which began in the sixties neither copied either but the strokes are better technically and the libertines are better Lyrically
i like the strokes better overall.. i like their lyrics as well.. julian's gritty voice works for them. but i like this band too.. well kinda. i only like.. 2 songs by this band and the strokes like i love all their songs. and the strokes have more variety too.. like their 3rd CD its different but still ROCKS. i hate bands that have the same kind of music over and over like Cascada, ughh.
they're a bit different, the strokes have that relaxed feel to them which is great for just chilling out and the libertines have a feel like they're going 100 mph and it's a thrill, just depends on the mood for me on which is better

The only reason a band like this would EVER be considered in rock and roll history is due to the greatness of their influence, which is clearly The Strokes. Their singer even tries to LOOK like Jules.. They(in my own opinion) are riding off of the success of The Strokes. Check them out if you want to hear a better version of the Libertines

That doesn't make them better. Strokes are a good band but they're repetitive - it's more about the fact The Strokes were a breath of fresh air a few years ago. If they came along now noone would care, it's not that great. I am glad of them though, without them The Libs wouldn't have been discovered.
They're songs aren't the same.. FIOE was totally different from their first 2 albums. I can even see differences between ROF and ITI. Like their songs per CD had pretty similar styles, but it only got a bit repetitive in the first album. the others are more diverse. but it doesn't matter since everyone loved ITI anyways. If the Strokes didnt come out we wouldn't have alot of good bands, or they wont be as good. like arctic monkeys who were influenced by the strokes a lot.
read The Libertines Bound Togeter for the facts, you'll find out that the libertines were writin and gigging before the strokes came out, and when the strokes did come out, they were seen as the british equivelent.

look oasis have never made a song that dosnt rip a beatles song off. atleast libs make the songs more exiting and totaly different. oasis songs are just diluted beatles songs

the start of dont look back in anger is a famous beatles track. they also tried to release a song from a unreeased beatles album and claimed it as there own but got sued for it by a beatles tribute band who had copywright to it. check it out on the internet. im going now lol

so, they used the beatles in one song....which was a two chord pattern in the into o the song and not used anywhere else, and no they did not try to release it as their own, they tried to put it on a B-side but didn't have the rights to do so.

yeah i agree. i loved AM's second album!! maybe even more than the first. and they have the best bsides.. i think they have more bsides than songs on albums haha cant wait for the new one. i wish i could go to the Reading Festival in the summer as they're headlining. :/

not sure we will see anything quite as good as these for a long time yet. i hope they get back together again but only if they are going to produce something amazing again. it would break my heart for them to come back with something lackluster, which im sure they wouldn't anyway. but hey lets just enjoy it at least we still have the memories and these videos :D

But the musicians they're playing with are forced to try to support Pete by himself, or Carl by himself,and the effect is shlocky and embarrassing. Pete doesn't have the aggresssiveness to take down a crowd, and Carl doesn't have the charisma to woo them.

They had the perfect formula: the good looking sneering a-hole(Carl) and the good looking stoned angel.(Pete) Together they were hot and sexy. Now they each try to lead their own bands, but they are surrounded y non-charsimatic, non-showmen musicians.

both the strokes and the libertines are influenced by a similar style of music called garage rock which began in the sixties neither copied either but the strokes are better technically and the libertines are better Lyrically

i like the strokes better overall.. i like their lyrics as well.. julian's gritty voice works for them. but i like this band too.. well kinda. i only like.. 2 songs by this band and the strokes like i love all their songs. and the strokes have more variety too.. like their 3rd CD its different but still ROCKS. i hate bands that have the same kind of music over and over like Cascada, ughh.

they're a bit different, the strokes have that relaxed feel to them which is great for just chilling out and the libertines have a feel like they're going 100 mph and it's a thrill, just depends on the mood for me on which is better

Also, the lyrical content, delivery and song structure of both bands are totally different...therefore the only similarity is the messy hair and leather jackets!!

The only reason a band like this would EVER be considered in rock and roll history is due to the greatness of their influence, which is clearly The Strokes. Their singer even tries to LOOK like Jules.. They(in my own opinion) are riding off of the success of The Strokes. Check them out if you want to hear a better version of the Libertines

you're talking bollocks mate although the strokes are ok the libertines sound nothing like the strokes. The libertines supported the stokes once or twice but thats about it, they both were starting to get big around the same time. Pete Doherty trying to look like Julian Casablancas dont make me laugh! That doesn't make them better. Strokes are a good band but they're repetitive - it's more about the fact The Strokes were a breath of fresh air a few years ago. If they came along now noone would care, it's not that great. I am glad of them though, without them The Libs wouldn't have been discovered.

They're songs aren't the same.. FIOE was totally different from their first 2 albums. I can even see differences between ROF and ITI. Like their songs per CD had pretty similar styles, but it only got a bit repetitive in the first album. the others are more diverse. but it doesn't matter since everyone loved ITI anyways. If the Strokes didnt come out we wouldn't have alot of good bands, or they wont be as good. like arctic monkeys who were influenced by the strokes a lot.

read The Libertines Bound Togeter for the facts, you'll find out that the libertines were writin and gigging before the strokes came out, and when the strokes did come out, they were seen as the british equivelent.

Just cause you can't appreciate good music doesn't make them any less of artists then you liking them. If they do infact make it into rock history(which they will) it's because of their chemistry as a band and how to entice an entire nation of blokes under their belt.
