Microsoft doesn't need a new console, and either does Sony. If anything what is it going to bring to the table that's new? I personally dnt see anything new they would bring. In fact the only thing I would see them doing is making their console digital media. I think the Nintendo is the console that's needs the upgrade since it doesn't barely have 720p.

Actually Zeph, the XBOX 360 has 512 MB of GDDR3 RAM that's shared between the CPU and GPU. The PS3 has 256 MB of GDDR3 RAM for the GPU and 256 MB of XDR RAM for the CPU. However, the RSX can utilize up to 224 MB of the XDR RAM (480 MB total of graphics memory). 512 MB of RAM for a GPU? Meh. My GeForce 9600 GSO has 1.5 GB of dedicated RAM. PC graphics cards can have up to 4 GB dedicated RAM. And I don't want NVIDIA to go out of business. AMD's drivers have pissed me off enough.

People really need to calm down a bit... we can all safely assume "Wii2" is coming out. But we still lack any confirmed knowledge about it's graphics, it's software lineup, and most importantly what it is capable of. Besides, even if it's graphics aren't insane, who cares? Every generation Nintendo proves that it is not the graphics that make the console, it's the games. The Wii wasn't as successful because it lacked 3rd party, and if nintendo releases before ps4/xbox720, they'll get 3rd party.

When it comes down to raw power, yes, the N64 had more than the PS1 and Saturn, however, nobody was really ever able to tap into it due to what was Nintendo's biggest mistake with the system by a landslide:
N64 more powerful than the PS1? I don't see no Tekken 3 or Metal Gear Solid on the N64.
Also, no mention that the Xbox was more powerful than the Gamecube. Where was the Gamecube version of San Andreas? :P
The SNES was more powerful than the Genesis though, so there's no doubt that Nintendo still have the resources to create a beast here capable of doing everything everything the PS3 can + more, the real question is, will it still hold up against the other next-gen consoles?
The Wii2 sounds really cool and if its hardware is more powerful than the PS3 and 360 then that would also be good. However, Nintendo needs to make sure their next console can compete with the 720 and PS4 so Third-party developers will go to their system.
If Nintendo does in fact reveal the Wii 2 this E3, then I believe it will jump start Sony & MS to reveal their next gen consoles VERY soon. They have said they wanted to wait until around 201- 2015 to release the next generation of consoles but if the Wii 2 is going to be more powerful than their current products, they will feel threatened & will have to beat that.

I don't believe Microsoft will bring a new console before 2013. Why? Because Microsoft isn't really capable of launching hardware that quickly.
Also, they know consumer confidence in their console products is at a low.
If Microsoft was to try and launch a console by holiday 2012, would you be an early adopter?
