I live in Alabama and I love Top Gear. It's true; there are places like this in my state. However, it's in the minority most definitely. That being said, I loved this episode.
The ONE thing that bugged me was the whole "getting chased" part. Where they had to turn ALL the cameras off inexplicably. Why would they do that? That would be EPIC footage, no cameraman would forfeit that. Plus, each car has several cameras rolling onboard. Not ONE of them was taping? I find that hard to believe.
Those cameras are expensive... think about what would happen if a rock so happened to hit one, would it be worth seeing a rock flying at the screen? Probably not.
My point was that the cameras WERE out and running during the rock throwing, but the second they got into the safety of the van, they turned them off. They could have kept running.
Not only that, but this doesn't account for the countless cameras all over each car that happened to be turned off right when the "rocks" were thrown. Also, if you notice, the redneck "yelling" as they were running away sounds post-processed and has a bizarre reverb on it like it was added later.

I live in Alabama and I love Top Gear. It's true; there are places like this in my state. However, it's in the minority most definitely. That being said, I loved this episode.
The ONE thing that bugged me was the whole "getting chased" part. Where they had to turn ALL the cameras off inexplicably. Why would they do that? That would be EPIC footage, no cameraman would forfeit that. Plus, each car has several cameras rolling onboard. Not ONE of them was taping? I find that hard to believe.

Those cameras are expensive... think about what would happen if a rock so happened to hit one, would it be worth seeing a rock flying at the screen? Probably not.

My point was that the cameras WERE out and running during the rock throwing, but the second they got into the safety of the van, they turned them off. They could have kept running.
Not only that, but this doesn't account for the countless cameras all over each car that happened to be turned off right when the "rocks" were thrown. Also, if you notice, the redneck "yelling" as they were running away sounds post-processed and has a bizarre reverb on it like it was added later.

There was a lot edited out and I am sure the film crew are not innocent. It wouldn't make a good show for them if nothing entertaining happened. Ive been there many times, its not like that at all. Look around long enough and "poke" at the right people and you'll get that reaction. You have the same in your country I am sure.

What sucks is that they went through probably the worst part of the country. I drove through it ONCE...I will never go there again. But it was nice they didnt destroy the cars and instead gave them to people that really needed them.

I'm quite aware of the fact GDP isn't an indicator of quality of life...but it tells alot...no country with a high GDP per capita has crappy services or infrastructure...I realize it's hard for you to understand pride for one's country, being that your country is tiny and rather insignificant nowadays...but don't judge my education kid, I've graduated from college and chances are I will go on to grad school and have a highly successful career...what is your education if I may ask?...

I understand why the Hicks went mad! But they just need to lighten up. If they did that in England there is CCTV everywhere and always police around so they couldnt get away with it. If Americans put Football is a gay sport, or Rugby is for losers or some shit you would get the haters. Since that appears to matter SOOO much to you, let me mention the Mexican-American War (our westward expansion), and the Smanish-American War. You need to keep in mind that over the past couple of hundred years, countries typically HAVEN'T FOUGHT ANY wars alone; including yours. Before you try to use military victories as a measure of a country's worth, you should really learn the historical facts then look at your own country's recent acheivements.

The Mexican war was ended with a treaty the Spanish war was ended by a treaty.And as recently as the 1980`s Britain sailed ALONE to the Falkland islands and routed the invading Argentine forces.Quite an achievement. So I suggest that you go and learn some facts because every single one that you just quoted was wrong

As far as the Mexican-American War, yes it did end in a treaty... one in which Mexico surrendered and gave up MUCH land!!! Much of the same can be said about the Spanish-American War; we gained islands in both the Carribean and the Pacific.
With so much support being given to our British friends during WWI and WWII, SURELY you don't hang your hat on your country's victory in the Falklands... THE FALKLANDS!!! Ha!!! Yes, Quite a "war" indeed.
