The health care companies are raising their rates right now in anticipation of covering their losses they will be incurring in the future from taking all pre-existing clients.
They also disapproved an amendment that would make it impossible for the government to raise taxes on anyone who made less than 250k a year.

I wish people would realize that they are now FORCED to buy healthcare and FORCED to pay for other people's whether they want to or not. The coverage has to be expanded... and that means it will cost more to ALL... unless you don't work and have 5 kids out of wed-lock. They will tax the rich and the middle class until they too are poor. It's called division of wealth and it's socialist.

Okay, "Hun" 750 bucks is not a small fee (up to twice a year). That's 3 weeks of work for me. If I get hurt, I'll pay the 750 emergency room fee and be done with it. How often does one have an emergency? But, on top of that I'll be raped each paycheck more than I am already am. And for what? So people who don't work as hard as me can get the benefits I get. Using a John Lennon song in this context is pretty contradictory. While this video brags of "power to the people," it's underlying meaning is to deny every person equal power and access to their healthcare.

actually, every job that Bush created (2 million) has been lost since Obama became pres. obama promised unemployment would not exceed 8% and it is now 10%. the current healthcare bill will leave 17- 34 million people without healthcare and will do nothing or significantly decrease the quality of care to those who have or will receive care. also, this healthcare will not come into effect until 2013 leaving us to be taxed for five years until we finally get the care.

Medicare is rationed and very costly at over 450 Billion a year, most must buy supplemental to make up the differance. V.A.'s are hit or miss roll the dice and take your chances. I bet you would find just a few veterans who differ with you. The Gov. uses both the military and private companies for their medical, and i guarantee unless you are one of them you will never get their level of care. 51 million seniors already have government health care...it's called Medicare and it works like a charm.
9.2 million veterans already have government health care and it works like a charm.
8 million Federal employees, including Congress and the President, already have government health care and it works like a charm.

Those who buy the supplemental (note correct spelling here, kid) do so because Bushie and the Boys made a deal with the insurance companies that gives no choices or options and that allow them to raise the premiums anytime they wish...and they have..... Mine tripled the first year, doubled again the second year and tripled for this year. I dropped the supplemental and take the "public" option of Medicare.
Soon, y'all can do the same.....kiss off the insurance companies.

So I'm watching these protest videos of dumb rednecks yelling and being real brave while surrounded by other rednecks ..but then I came across the one of Rep. Donna Edwards and the only peep out of the NASCAR fans was some old white guy asking politely about tort reform. Why the civility?...half of that room was black people...hehehe, I guess the white trash knew that if they wanted to still be able to chew their food and walk with a normal gait that it might be a good time to shut the fuck up.

The producers have a lot of nerve using Lennon's "Power to the People" as a soundtrack. John Lennon certainly would have supported health reform, a much stronger version of it than is on the table now. Yoko Ono, his spouse, and both of his children strongly support health reform in the US.
Lennon's lyrics were derived from the Civil Rights movement, a movement that used governmental power to change the status quo in the face of massive protests from folk who look just like these protesters.

Do you have a plan that would make sure people are covered whom are changing jobs and get sick in between jobs? And do you protesters have a plan to allow people, who have a so-called pre existing problems, Insurance at a affordable rate? And will you force insurance companies to cover all medical problems and also force insurance companies to stop stalling on cancer test, My friend has to wait 6 months for a cancer test, because the insurance company said so, no other reason was given.

So how is the government going do sustain the costs of surgeries and various medical tests for people under this so called public option? Do you know what an MRI or a stress test costs? Why would the government approve a surgery for a patient that they may need, but only would give them 3-5 more years of life?
