I've driven this route so many times and I still found this video facinating. I loved all of the information you put into it. I'm going to check out my other frequently traveled interstates! I just did a dusk/night time time lapse of a portion of I-15 just past where this video ended.
I remembered driving on Interstate 15 North through Southern Utah from the Arizona Border to Cedar City. Outside of St. George I swear to you, RED AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE! That's what I saw driving through Utah.
Hey, you may want to delay your next trip here (SLC metro) until after December 2012 so that you can be the first to do a drive through video of the new I-15 CORE project in Utah County. Though getting some footage right at the midpoint of construction this summer would be cool too. Either way, just make sure you get down here for when I-15 CORE opens. When you swing by the Wasatch Front feel free to hit me up if you need some sustenance or gas money.
@operazanotaijin: Did you get a chance to watch my I-80 video thru SLC in both directions? It features much better editing, vs this I-15 one. I plan on heading back to SLC sometime, to record everything again with my new camcorder (which features much better image stabilization). Anyway, here's the I-80 video. youtube.com/watch?v=vSfeKxjEKsk
The streets in SLC and other towns in Utah and Southern Idaho are based on the location of the main mormon temple in town. For example the street "500 South" is 5 blocks south of the temple while "2000 West" is 20 Blocks west of the temple, etc.
I almost made the decision to drive out to Denver as well, but decided against it, as it would've set me back significantly in getting oriented in my 3 online courses for this quarter. One of these days, I'll get out there, but I think I have more than enough footage already to work on. :-)
Oh, and to answer your original question, yup, I've passed thru Denver on numerous occasions. It's indeed a very nice freeway, but definitely not as wide as I-15 in SLC.

@555222444999: I've never been to Alaska. Hope to go (and I'm sure I will), one of these days, although I'd probably fly and rent a car.

Are all of SLC streets just numbers? At first I thought they were just address directions.

This freeway is simply AWESOME. Great work UDOT!
They did a massive reconstruction project on I-25 in south Denver as well, have you been there too?

Hey thanks! I was thinking that this song was going to get a very mixed reaction, but everyone I've showed it to, thus far, seems to like it a lot.

Nice video of Salt Lake City and enjoyed the 8 bit music. It's an interesting genre.

Yeah, it took me a while to warm up to that tune, but it's now one of my favorite urban freeway driving songs.
