Sitting there and enjoying the show.. seen two 360 shows before Amsterdam II and kinda expecting the same setlist.

Then all sudden.. they play One as 7th or 8th song of the evening.

This was a sign something magic would happend and then..

BANG!!! They through out their tour debut of Bad, Until The End Of The World and Elevation!

Holy crap... yeah the guy took lessons or something, he couldn't sing like that anymore on the vertigo tour. . . Awesome. They're coming to my city next summer and I'VE GOT TICKETS! I so hope they play Bad, that would be DOPE. But really I'm just glad I'll get to see them live in my lifetime. I think that's important. I think everybody should see them play once. Or at least watch a DvD. Someone make it happen :)

I was there and it was a GREAT concert. Even after 24 years (the first time I saw U2 live was in 1985) they gave me a few hours of absolute surrender to their music. Am I making sense? Ah well, every U2 fan will know what I mean :-). And 'Bad' was absolutly the crown on this concert!

I think the band was inspired in this event. In fact, despite of some minor technical difficulties the entire show seemed bang-on to my taste. 'Bad' was absolutely the best moment and I was really happy they performed this song!

I saw once an interview with bono, he said he it was to protect his eyes from allergic reactions, like some kind of sand. (I think maybe some kind of hayfever) sorry about the bad english tough :p

You're absoltely right. I wasn't there - thats why I asked if Bono was uninspired the whole concert or just when singing this. I addressed the guy who was disappointed and gave him some sympathy. It's always sad to hear that a fan of U2 is disappointed.

And sometimes Bono can be "professional" without being inspired or give that little extra U2:s standard is extremely high though...

So: I wasn't there, I love U2, my post was a question, not criticism. You misunderstood.

This is a bad performance of Bad. I was there but this is really poor for U2. The song has so much potention to be extended: instead Bono has no inspiration at all and takes the song down to the basic. The Edge wanted to continue the song and do an extended version but no it did'nt happen.

The best version of this song is the one from the Vertigo Tour Live At Boston and probably it will never be topped again.

Anyway I love the intro, Bono singing the chorus to 40, Edges solo (which really sounded a bit like the Live Aid-version) and the audience singing How loong when the song ended.
