I never really understood why people didn't like 9 so much, is was pretty much classic Final Fantasy (pre-7) with a modern twist, but yet I see people who prefer the classic style saying that every game after 7 was bad.

Personally 9 is my favourite, because I prefer the themes, sci-fi isn't really my thing, I also prefer 4 in a party as oppose to 3. And I liked the trance system a lot.

Kuja is my favourite villain too.

Kuja is the best FF villain, because he doesn't just fill the "villain" role. He is a multifaceted being who never got the opportunity to be a child. He was created as an adult, who has no childhood and no parents to form his personality from. He is a puppet used by Garland, and to some extent used by his own desire for purpose. If FFIX has a singular theme, it is purpose. This theme is so underrated, as is FFIX. Everyone that calls themselves Final Fantasy fans needs to play this game.

@Zeta439 Kuja is such a better villain than Kefka. Rather than relying on sheer insanity to create a villain, Kuja was actually human and believable. That last bit of dialogue between him and Zidane in the Iifa tree proves that. Not only was he disturbed by his realization of his mortality, he also showed that he was capable of redeeming himself. All Kefka has in the way of depth is his nihilism.

Kefka's great, but Kuja's better.

**SPOILERS** Kefka was actually the first Magic Knight the empire created. The unperfected project was capable of giving him power but did destroy his sanity... I would love to see a prequel to 6 involving the creation of the Gesthalian empire and how Kefka and the corrupt empire came to be. Though from what information given on the to villains I think Kuja was much better explained.

@Kimarusco I'm aware of all of that, regarding Kefka, because I HAVE played the game. However, raw humanity > insanity in my book, and since we never get to see Kefka prior to his insanity, it's hard to grant him much humanity, because the players weren't presented with any. I'm glad that they explained why Kefka turned out the way he did, but as a character, he still lacks the depth that Kuja has. So I still hold, Kuja is a better villain than Kefka.
