  • I'm speechless!

  • HOLY HAIRDO!!! O,O

  • She's bloody great, I remember strong women role models like her and Lydia Lunch, Anja from Xmal Deutchland in the 80's.

  • Interesting thoughts from Danielle Dax. She is an intelligent person.

  • I saw her at Massey Hall in Toronto opening for Sisters of Mercy.

  • MY HAIR IS A BIRD

    YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID

  • I have all of DD's albums on vinyl, and saw her in Toronto in late 80's, I think. She was awesome!! She is great live, and I wish her music was available on cd at a reasonable price. She is great!

  • Interesting girl

  • She is a genius!

  • The hair is from an era, she is great. I wore out my first cassette of Blast the Human Flower. Kudos, baby.

  • Toyah had a thing with Robert Fripp, they may still even be together, dunno. I first became aware of Danielle Dax when I was working as a DJ in the eighties and was sent three 12" vinyl singles in '85, '87 & '88. Loved 'em, still have those singles. I can remember doing a wedding reception near Twickenham (I'm from Greenwich) where all the guests kept requesting Danielle, which made me grateful for those singles. Only now have I become aware of her bigger career and it's good. Hope she's well.

  • Love her lips and gorgeous eyes!!

  • didn't she have a thing with Robert Fripp?

  • Do not let the hair fool you- she's a genius. awesome songwriting, pours her heart into it . Plays a hell of a lot of instruments. Not unlike Prince, or dare i say it- Freddie Mercury? Any babe who can rise to the top is a kick ass force. Shit, she _sounds_ like Brian May..

Those of us who love her work, we are VERY aware of her.

  • @xyaqua

she is gothic and underground band so why she must with prince or queen><

  • @xyaqua Seconded!

  • lovely hair

  • She had some hair.... o.o

  • ...wearing public school boys in charge of music at the BBC then )Rock music for all the boys-club bad-ass extremes is in reality as conservative, in its own way, as coven of maiden aunts; If this is true for the boys, its doubly true for the girls.

  • She always put me in mind of Strawberry Switchblade I think there are some parallels there, though I know they were also very different ( S.S. la-la-ed their way through their songs of darkness and despair ) They both however, tried to square the circle between art and commercialism and were caught between a rock ( should that be just rock ) and a hard place, the narrowness of the rock/pop audience and the narrowness of the rock/pop media/business. ( not to mention the tank top wearing..

  • i saw her live in 91,fuckin excellant live!

    and a very sexy woman!

  • What a babe. I would chew on her used tampon.

Anyone got 16 Candles? my fav Danielle song.

  • I've got it. It's the final track on "Blast The Human Flower". Excellent song too, love the violins and the guitar solo.

  • how come everyone says goths are like into all that alien, midevil, wierd shit?

  • I signed up for a youtube acct just to say that Danielle Dax IS NOT DEAD! Her myspace page is maintained by her longtime collaborator Karl Blake, who notes in the blog she was to do some performances in 2007 but became ill. He has posted updates since then. She is most definitely not dead, but awaiting rebirth in London. Anyone see any of her performances in 2006? (in the UK and France)

  • nothing about her death on HER MySpace page today...

  • she is not dead...look up wikipedia

  • why would I lie? nothing to gain from it, they had a memorial service for her, so if she isn't dead that kinda sick

  • she died in 2007

  • Liar.

  • I remember vividly, seeing her in consert in London back in the 80's. I had forgotten what a beautiful woman she was. And what a hell of a show she could put on. All the best to her...

  • bless Dax!

  • she's not dead!! she's been sick recently..check the blog on her official myspace

  • myspace ROFL 90% of bands don't run there myspace, hell I have had messages from Lord Byron, Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison on myspace

  • would love to hear new material from DD

  • How do you know this? I just did a Google search and there is no news about it.

  • Wrong.

  • She really IS ggorgeous. Best in White Knuckle Ride.

  • I beg to differ. White Knuckle Ride is rather conventional (dare I say boring?) rock music. Check out Hammerheads and Pariah. It is this early, creative, unique stuff she produced that is testimony to her genius.

  • Danielle-where art thou today? I did not like your later stuff as much as your earlier experimental stuff on labels like "Red[something]...maybe Dot? I hoped you would not go down the sudden "looking cute and sounding new-wavey dance, then disappear"route, but I guess you did.The only "anglo-saxon femme fatale" I've loved all these years and always will is my dear Kate Bush.

  • Danielle Dax music was an esoteric kick in the balls to all those disbelievers in the recording industry who pput money over skill and imagination.

  • With her beauty, wisdom and enginuity Danielle Dax continues to prove the beauty of the anglo-saxon femme fatale.

  • Thank you so so much for this- Danielle seems like such a lovely, nice person <3

  • thanks for posting!
