Im Mexican and proud of it and I am so glad that finally a character with the fighting style "Lucha Libre" originated in Mexico has finally made it in my favorite fighting game of all time!

I play El Fuerte and I love him, his style and mind games keep the opponent guessing where they should block next not to mention his over the top throws made for those who like to focus attack the tostada press and the habanero dash slide.

We are talking about Street Fighter bruh the biggest fighting game franchise...not the 4 little games that Virtua Crapper came up with...and even thou they are both from Mexico and both lucha libre fighters El Fuerte is unique in his own way I mean I dont see El Blaze running super fast nor doing guacamole leg throws...so I dont know what you are talking about.

You do know that Virtua Fighter is also a very important japanese title in the 3D beat em up department, do you? It's the master discipline at Tougeki. Also, you do know, that the Street Fighter franchise has always had a faible of directly copying characters? El Blaze was modeled after that wrestler, but El Fuerte, the character, his design, was a ripoff. No question, his moveset is totally different, but that's only understandable, we're comparing 2D Fighting with 3D Fighting here.

I dont agree with you argument about El Fuerte being a ripoff of El Blaze...see to begin with El Blaze was modeled after Rey Mysterio's fighting style and fashion statement...El Fuerte was modeled after Mexican wrestling legend "El Santo". Both El Santo and Rey Mysterio are lucha libre fighters but with different styles so NO! El Fuerte is not a ripoff of El Blaze...they have similar fighting style but were inspired by different fighters.

But, you see... The idea to include a mexican lucha libre fighter in their next game after VF had done so in their latest game is somewhat suspicious. And since Capcom has always been like that (Yun/Yang, M.Bison) I just believe they stole the idea.

They gave him a unique moveset and adapted him to the SF franchise though, so he really fits in, imo.

I dont think they were copying VF...CAPCOM just needed more variety in their characters...so they brought El Fuerte into the character line up...Dead or Alive 4 also has a lucha libre fighter called La Mariposa (the butterfly) and it was a launch title with the 360 console back in 2005-2006...Virtua Fighter didnt launch til late 2006-2007 so VF was definitely no the first fighting franchise to have a lucha libre fighter therefore there is no ripoff here and if it is then VF did it!!!

No. The difference is that lucha libre is pretty exotic and not very common. Boxing and Karate are known in the world, but the fact that every franchise wanted a lucha libre fighter in their fighting game in a timespan of a few years is pretty weird though. Plus, I'd like you to consider again that Capcom likes to copy, there are numerous examples. And I am not saying they are pure ripoffs, that doesn't make any sense since we're comparing 2D and 3D here. The idea is stolen man, that's it.

Lucha Libre has been a part of videogames for a long time...games like Tekken (the very first one) and King of Fighter 2002/2003 have lucha libre characters as well as Backyard Wrestling 2...so lucha libre has been out there way before the days of the PS2. Now CAPCOM copying??? Did you know that some of the biggest fighting game developers teams have former members of CAPCOMs street fighter developers??? actually a lot of them left and they are known now as SNK!!!

I think also king of fighter is a good game but I'm not a big fan... the other ones I don't really like them.. there's something about street fighter that makes it a unique game. is my personal opinion!
