Congrats you have just worked your soleus not ur calf's When ur leg is bent atr 90 degrees ur soleus is activated not ur calf ;) you people need a teacher ! :D
@ElvisFerbeyre well i'm a lot bigger now haha so it must have worked :o]; in that video i was just starting to get serious and i was around 160lbs; now i'm 200-205lbs
this machine is a waste of time personally. I tried this and its nothing like what i've been doing. If you get one of those fixed barbells and just add the desired weight on there doing 4 sets of 12 then you should definitely feel the burn. If you can find a plank or one of those step up boards then place that 30cm in front of your feet so that your body is slightly at an angle, as in your legs should be slightly in front of your body. about 70 or 80kg is good for beginners I would say.
Update: I have grown somewhat considerably since this video. I am at another gym now so the machine may be different but I can rep out pretty easily and with much stricter form 200-225lbs. I also weigh about 25lbs more. I plan to put out some new videos soon. :)
Either you're born with good calves that'll grow even if you just water them, or you have stubborn calves that take intense workouts to even grow a little. It's genetics when it comes to calves.
i could calf raise 480 lbs on standing calf raise on one calf 3x back when i was 16 seriousely they are freakishly huge maybe if i get a video camera i will put it on here i will put the post a response and now i could probably do 580 per calf standing calf raise

With the leverage, you're probably not even working those at all.
On the other hand, they are cute and shapely in a girly way.

You need burning the calves...
Or you never get bigger calves
fogonabomba2 1 year ago
seated calf raises should be done slowly and you should really stretch at the bottom of the movement.
yashespatel 2 years ago 8
150 times 10??!!!!!!!!!! No range of motion. Learn to train calves loser....No wonder there birdie in the first place lol

unfortunately I hae the latter

you are right
danutzbest 2 years ago
... Although that is not an excuse not to train calves as many people seem to think. You just have to work harder on it (Or wiser).
Emasika 2 years ago
its genetics when it comes to everything in your body...everybody has his own potential of building his body

@MMAbadboy not me...I drink lots of man nector..a little salty butt good and with great results
paperpro3223 10 months ago
@MMAbadboy You can pretty much apply that to any body part, lol. But it is especially true for calves. :)

dude, slow down. You shouldn't use momentum, it cheats you out of the resistance you need so u can grow
ReloadXD6 2 years ago
if you consider the leverage of this machine then it's way more than 150lbs you lift.
FrozenHummocks 2 years ago 2
Every step you take is a calf raise with your own weight, use a ton of weight.
Reg park did calf raises with 800 pounds, Arny enjoyed having all the weight+People standing on the machine.
You gotta work much harder if you think thats working out
Corruptedd 3 years ago 3
why are u wearing green shorts with a small t shirt and u have small bi's
Grasscity 3 years ago
That looked way too easy for u. And BryanFelix is right. A good stretch and flex is very important.
I think u could have gone upto 15-20.
Dont forget ur standing or leg press calf raises. Those really build some serious size.
Als rememeber to let them stretch once u finish ur set. Best time to maximize the growth.

Definitely need to stretch lower at the bottom and go slower and more controlled on the way up and down.
