Of course there are much more humane methods now (stunning) but they haven't changed or kept up with what is humane. Many Orthodox Jews will not mix meat and dairy because of a verse in Torah that says "you will not boil a kid in its mother's milk" believing it to be cruel to slaughter the goat's offspring and then use her own life-giving milk to cook it (potentially with the mother goat's awareness of such). In this day and age, the chance of such a thing happening is slim, so many more liberal Jews don't worry about it.

You need to see a video of non-kosher slaughter. There are some on YouTube showing pigs. Then you can decide if slitting the animal's throat allowing a rush of blood to exit is the more humane way to turn animals into the food we eat; or if it's hitting the animal on the head with a heavy metal mallet, sending it into convultions, then sitting on the pig making a small slit to collect the blood in a pan (it is used for sausage making), and moving the leg of the dying animal to get more blood.

I think this kosher thing is a lot of bullshit! According to a video I just watched, it's not about health, but holiness--but I don't think making an animal suffer with it's throat slit is very holy at all!
Also, a kashrut or kosher diet forbids the eating of dairy and meat together...dairy representing life, and meat representing death--but how about that classic jewish sandwich, the Rubin? Pastrami and Swiss cheese! WTF?
We should demand that food producers stop charging us the kosher tax!

first of all, this is a video that pieces together all the worst looking scenes so you think kosher slaughter is worse than regular slaughter. Obvisously, they messed up and probably aren't qualified to slaughter meat.. the knife has to be checked 12 times, something not done by most Jews in NY.

Many Orthodox Jews will not mix meat and dairy because of a verse in Torah that says "you will not boil a kid in its mother's milk" believing it to be cruel to slaughter the goat's offspring and then use her own life-giving milk to cook it (potentially with the mother goat's awareness of such). In this day and age, the chance of such a thing happening is slim, so many more liberal Jews don't worry about it.

Well listen buddy, i see that youare frustrated with this, but again, this is life, but the whole mainframe behind the jewish idea of slaughtering is to make sure the animal has the most painless experience possible, and jews only use animals that have never been sick or any blemishes of any type. The point of cleaner beef is that the animal is thoroughly check even after the kill, and even not jewish doctors reccomend eating kosher meat.

Kosher and halal slaughter r the most humane ways. No cruelty towards animals, as just the vein is cut, after which the animal bleeds from multiple effects such as losing blood, lack of oxygen due to blood loss. No other pain from stunning is recieved. The reaction animals show is due to the need of oxygen. Just smother ur nose and mouth for 2 mins and see how fast u will move ur body parts. Im sorry for the animals which die having stunned method.

You need to see a video of non-kosher slaughter. There are some on YouTube showing pigs. Then you can decide if slitting the animal's throat allowing a rush of blood to exit is the more humane way to turn animals into the food we eat; or if it's hitting the animal on the head with a heavy metal mallet, sending it into convultions, then sitting on the pig making a small slit to collect the blood in a pan (it is used for sausage making), and moving the leg of the dying animal to get more blood.

The treatment is inhumane and savage. This is how we should know where our meat comes from in this type of systematic killing. I have never seen anything like this. Being kosher isn't supposed to be the process of indulging one the pleasure of slaughter just to engage the process of cleaning the inside of the cows for impurity. Kosher meat is not slaughtered by a rabbi! It is slaughtered by a schochet (kosher butcher) and if in a slaughterhouse, it is supervised by a rabbi. A rabbi does not perform schechita.
