  • A little misleading to say the Aesops' Fable 'inspired' Disney... 'reassured' might be closer. He saw it when in New York looking for a company to record the soundtrack for "Steamboat Wilie", and wrote back to his brother Roy: “It merely had an orchestra playing and adding some noises. The talking part does not mean a thing. It doesn’t even match. We sure have nothing to worry about from these quarters”.

  • @OddToonzAgain Still I'm sure Walt must've felt really stunned at what was happening outside his own project.

  • nice!

  • There was a cartoon series at the time about an obstinate mule called "And Her Name Was Maude"

  • @rbbonotto Yes- though the animated series proper was called "Maud the Mule"

  • Could that be the same one that had Grim Natwick's first assignment? I have read that his first assignment was a racehorse in a 1918 Happy Hooligan cartoon.

  • @baxterfilms I've heard that as well...it could very well be that specific film.

  • Ancient Karaoke since 10:24... =0

  • Is that a Happy Hooligan cartoon at 3:33?

  • @baxterfilms Yep
