Assuming the game worked very well when you got the computer, and its increasingly getting slower and slower. I just have one question to ask you. Do you move the computer around while your using? walking tilting or anything like that? I ask this because as a hard drive spins, it gets to where it doesnt want to change direction, but moving your comp forces it to. This tears up your hard drive which in turn slows down your computer. Just because its a laptop doesnt mean its made to move all over.

O and by the way... go to nvidia graphics by press function f6 and U got the 800 dollar base model.... not a wise choice if you wanna play wow. That only comes with 2gigs of ram= not good for wow.... you should be able to get maybe 45 fps with nvidia graphics on. U should upgrade to 4 gigs of ram that way U can get like 60 -70 fps.

okay we know alienware is a fail, okay I accept that but you fail in using WIFI for online gaming, NEVER ever NEVER NEVER use wifi for online gaming especially for wow, I don't care if you using fios or fiber or T1 directly to your house. Ok so many things are missing here... Sounds like you bought the cheapest version of the m11x. The $800 m11x model comes bare: 2gb flash... 1.3 ghz processors... crap video card... Now for $200 more you get: 1.9 ghz duel i5 4gb flash 500gb hdd Now your issue is mainly RAM, Processors (You can fully OC them to 1.9...), GPU, and hdd speed (yours only has 5200rpm, best m11x has 7200rpm.) Now there is only so much you can do to make your computer better... im not too native to alienware computers

Does this kid understand that just because you have good internet signal quality that doesn't mean that you have a l33t internet connection? You could have "5 bars" because your laptop is able to receive the signal well but what if your wireless router is connected to DSL? Is your game going to lag? Most likely because if you're going to game at all wireless you should have an N -card and at least Cable internet to get the same effect as a non wireless connection.

the latency is not a problem is your computer, its your internet connection. you probably dont have enough bandwidth. The only way to fix that is if you call your isp and upgrade your package.

that is really decent performance for a notebook of shit size. What is holding you back in wow is cpu frequency. I have dual xeon quads and a 5970 and raids and dala kills it due to only having 2.8ghz on the cpu. Considering you have an ULV cpu it's not a surprise your getting that kind of fps. I would recommend turning shadows down all the way since that is the main cpu killer in wow.

@davidwebb14 hey David. well thats not suppoused to be that way... with those specs you should get good but not great FPS running that game. as far as i know it requires Shader model 4.0 and with everything ok you should be getting at least 30 FPS with all of the effects set at max, may know what HDD you got 5400RPM or 7200RPM? did you overclocked the CPU from BIOS? are you using turbo boost?

@davidwebb14 2nd REPLY* these ULV processors from i series are meant to decrease the power cosumption while the performance is increased, but in order to get the real performance you need to OC from BIOS and to use Turbo boost. why? bcuase i7 640UM runs at 1.20ghz by default, and OC+TB it goes up to 2.66ghz which is necesary to run that type of graphical app, its a quad core but an ULV quad core running at 1.20ghz that need to be unleashed you dont need to OC and TB for regular tasks only gamin

@josepippo Thx I spent couple of hours yesterday figurin it out turns out the m11x was already on turbo boost and the problem was with the Nvidia GPU. Becuz I was playing the game of a disk It didnt fully recognize that it switch to the GT335m and still ran it with Intel's integrated graphics. So a trip to the Nvidia's Control panel and I added the game to a whitelist which plays it using the Nvidia GPU. Works great now, it looks like games from steam dont recquire me to do this tho :)

did u get the core2duo processor in the machine? Alot of the people with m11x's are doin reviews based on overclocking the core2 from 1.3 to about 1.7 what will help and when playing wow u can max out settins but turn the shadows on low. You sure you got the nvidia gpu active? cause on the core2 and pentium versions you have to manualy press a button to switch from Intel Gpu to Nvidia gpu.
