I dont get why people would use compound bows when primitive bows have put food on the table for thousands of years. Come on guys give the game the fighting chance they deserve with primitive gear.
@jacksoncole79 Two words "More Distance" you can shoot game that is out of range of a primitive bow with a compound bow. That could be all the difference between a good day or a bad day.
In general, leverage bows are about 10-20% slower than the faster wheel bows.
Oneida's & Monster bows are reputed to be in the 300fps range but, under real world shooting conditions, speeds of around 260- 270's are about the norm. Ditto for speed reduction of compound bows-- a 320 rating will translate into the high 280's.
The trade off is the smoothest draw in the industry with an equally sweet release. Half way between the natural smooth feel of a recurve with the speed of a compound.
No it isn't a ripoff of an Oneida. It is a lever bow like an oneida, but it uses just cables instead of timing wheels and whatnot. It might LOOK like an Oneida, but it is an entirely different bow.
@Duckslayer The term ripoff is Interesting, Checkout the Oneida history files and you will find a bow called the Oneida Discovery, What a shock no cams? Oneida didn't continue with the design because it was not efficient at tranasferring the limb energy to the arrow.
