  • Loving the Hyoshigi (traditional wooden sticks) on beginning

  • WTF?

    That was an Anime O.o

  • I like the American intro better.

  • This show rocks!!!!

  • what is the theme song ?

by the way why are they shaking their butt at 0:17 ??

  • 18 people were born in the 2000s

  • the only reason i have heard of this show is cause of a Comic by palcomix. (Don't visit there website if you are underage)

  • @KimRobinRisvi i remember that comic! it was messed up

  • @animedude752 You think that one was bad? Then you should see... actually no you shouldn't see that other one, and as such I'm not even going too mention it, because it will only serve too rape you childhood, as it raped mine.

  • @DarenSankari lol yeah.palcomix made another one?R.I.P childhood lol

  • @animedude752 Not of Samurai Pizza Cats, however it involved Pokemon and an overgrown horse.

  • @DarenSankari Oh man not that one.Iv'e read it and needed to take a shower after words.Felt so dirty.

  • @animedude752 Indeed. I couldn't watch pokemon for a week after that X(

  • @DarenSankari You still watch pokemon? thats cool.I grew out of that years ago.Still play the games now and then but i just grew out of the show.

  • @animedude752 I mostly only watch the older episodes, for nostalgia. I'm more into the games, and the manga.

  • @animedude752 Not about Samurai Pizza Cats, but it did involve Pokemon and an overgrown horse.

  • 僕は赤ちゃんの泣き声を聞いた。

    彼の名前はsuiseisekiです。

  • i like the part that starts around 0:57... it goes well with the little fight scene :)

  • nice intro though

  • One of the rare animes, where the English dub was better

  • @earthwolf82 how can it be better when it was a parody? heard it was translated but they looked at what was going on and made their own script lol

  • @onijoshy21 Because it was more entertaining.

  • @onijoshy21 My mistake poor choice of words, should have said simply that the English version was better

  • @earthwolf82 Well, it wasn't really a translation as they didn't get the scripts. It's like the first 'abridged series'. They made it up.

IMO the best English animé dub is Cowboy Bebop

  • @ChromaAurora poor choice of words by me as I had already stated in my reply to another guy.

  • otto dokkoi kako otto dokkoi mirai edoroporisu wa hisuterii kitto matteta haroo zattsu hissatsu hiiroo shippo no haeta metaru ninja da yo kuma-san hattsu-san yokochou no mina-san ni seigi wo o-todokeshimasu (teyandee) inbou mania no kuromaku taosunda izayuke robo kyatto hora kawaii hime ga yondeiru (oo kurushuunai) to iwasumade koko wa hitotsu makecha naru maizo don't mind dejitaru shokuninkatagi ashita mo yoo! nihonbare Enoy =]
  • @sygo7g Yeah Florida has a good climate and places like Tampa and Orlando are very quiet.

  • @sygo7g From Ohio? Nice, most cities out of Miami are decent. Miami is good, but there're many coarse Latins. Well, there're also beautiful places and decent people.

I love Cuba and I love my homeland. That's why I love Miami.

  • @sygo7g Well, yeah, they put mangas and any cartoon from all around the world, but they also put what they (government) think we must see. So we're not free at all there, we're forced to see what it's the most appropriate for them. So what did they taught you at school? Where are you from by the way??

  • @sygo7g Why? In Cuba we have also TV.

  • Ahh samurai pizza cat luv ;3

  • Marik:I am The Leader Of The Most Feared Anime Orginization

    Yugi:The Samarai Pizza Cats

Marik:Yes NO Wait Not The EFFING Samarai Pizza Cats Im Talking About The Rare Hunters

  • I remember those cartoons, they put it in Cuba when I was a child. Those memories.

  • :D I love this intro!

  • 0:17; Ah... Japan.

  • Great intro.

  • see...

In eng ver they are samurai?

In Japanese version(original) They are NINJYA.

cat nin den teyandey(cat ninjya tale teyandei)

  • Am I the only one who wonders what the people are actually saying?

  • @WarchiefBlackhand

No I want to know too

  • @WarchiefBlackhand I once saw a version with what they are saying, along time ago. The only thing I remeber is something about a fur covered ninja.

  • @WarchiefBlackhand I once saw a version with what they are saying, along time ago. The only thing I remeber is something about a fur covered ninja.

  • I love the look on Speedy's face at 0:12. He looks drunk! LOL

  • ENLISH ! IS BETTER lol

  • wow soo cute

  • Are only the comments of the country other than Japan.

    So What~?

    i'm from japan.

  • I dont think i've ever seen a good american cartoon. Typically most americans would claim a decent cartoon as their own if it was dubbed with an american accent. As for sponge bob, 'plotless and a little weird and obnoxious' hit the nail on the head for both the audience and the show.

  • Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Aren't those what one can call...classics?

  • C.O.P.S, Thundercats, Bravestar...The list goes on

  • @SebbeLundblad although that's true ... most of the drawings were made in Asia. Dutch Tales: Taiwan & Japan Rescue Rangers: North Korea Ninja Turtles: Japan

  • @SebbeLundblad All are now available on DVD as well. :)

  • @SebbeLundblad dont forget tiny toons

  • @SebbeLundblad

I grew up with those in the 80s and i loved this anime since i was 14 and even saw some fansub tapes uncut ones.

  • What about Simpsons?

    Also there's Venture Brothers.

There are plenty of good american cartoons.

  • animaniacs, tiny toons, freakazoid, spectacular spiderman, first 5 seasons of spongebob, powepuff girls, dexters lab, johnny bravo, fosters home for imaginary friends, south park, scooby doo. as you can see i have no life

  • Animaniacs

    Pinky and the Brain

    Tiny Toons

    Angry Beavers

    Rocko's Modern Life

    Invader Zim

  • @TX3VIL We have good animated movies though. Ever heard of Don Bluth?

  • @cgsilverscreen2020 yes i have the secret of nimh awesome movie

  • know this was the freckest think ive ever seen in my life....AND I LOVE IT!!!

  • i like this version is very japanise

  • Opening Scene is so much better than the english. But i prefer the music of the english version.

  • I forgot how much awesome this show was!

  • Omg....I almost forgot how awesome my childhood TV shows were...especially Samurai Pizza Cats! T-T

  • Japanese version has more samurai and less pizza.

  • so much better then the english intro.

  • This is a Tatsunoko property, one that could potentially feature a character for the future release of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, so here's hoping!

  • This is probably on of the my favorite english dub of any anime. But the Japanese intro is more catchy. At school it kept on running through my head then I couldn't remember how the other song stuck in my head went.

  • Jesus fucking christ GET THIS SONG OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

I keep hearing "Ottodokkoi kako, ottodokkoi mirai! Edoroporisu wa hi-su-teri." every fucking day!

  • Early 90's to mid,I guess, but honestly this was the PINNACLE of cartoon popularity,so many great cartoons which were often quite clever and taught good morals. Nowadays there is alot of rubbish but you get a glimmer of hope now and again,Avatar being one of them.

  • You do realize that it was only the american version which was horribly changed to be direct competition to TMNT? TMNT was seen as a more directed to adult audiences in japan, so this was there for-kids answer.

  • Notice that the Spanish Version that was also dubbed by Saban also had the same "theme" like the English version. If another Spanish Language dubbing production did the Spanish language version of S.P.C. the show still would have it's original opening & closing theme music instead of the "mish-mosh" music that Saban gave the series. I do not know if other "non-Saban" international language versions(dubbed by other studios in thier languages) of S.P.C are out there with the original opening theme

  • Also i'm refering to the original Classic TMNT animated back in the late 1980's by MWS animation. Not the newer versions including that "live action train wreck" that Saban had in the 1990's.

  • lol XD I haven't seen Samurai Pizza Cats since I was little

  • That is so much better then the U.S. version.

  • The US version was certinly corny like a corn dog with a side of cornbread.

  • That's cos they had to write their own script for the episodes. They got the episodes to release, but not the original script, so the US version of the SPC is completely different, aside from the animation.

  • I actually like this more than the english version.

  • Tatsunoko needs to revive this series! Make a new anime, or put them in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom 2. Anything will do! Just please do something again with them!

  • What about a remake of the Samurai Pizza Cats like they did with Yatterman and for Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2 Speedy should be playable while Polyester and Quieno Anchovies could be in his hyper combos.

  • that would be awesome!

  • and just like Yatterman I don't want Samurai Pizza Cats to be dubbed and ruin by 4KIDS.

  • agreed.

    4Kids ruins so many anime!

    I despise them for that!

  • you're not alone on that i HATE 4kids SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

  • That the reason I dislike 4kids as well FOR "KILLING OFF" THE ENTIRE KIDS WB LINE UP LAST YEAR ! even though 4 kids has two good anime shows that they importred from Japan, Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh.

  • i agree

  • Also if 4kids would'nt of "killed off" KidsWB ,such show like "Johnny Test" & "The Legion of Super Heroes" would still be broadcasting on Kids WB on the CW network!

  • yeah but i HATE HATE HATE johnny test but legion of super heroes is pretty good

  • By 'Johnny Test', you mean the show with the twin scientist chicks and the blond haired kid that's a human version of Pavlov's dog, right? Because that show sucks.

  • Yes. I also call Johnny Test the "Dexter's Labratory" wannabe. If you notice that Johnny's twin Sisters Susan & Mary were the scientist ( Like Dexter & they also both had red hair like Dexter). & Johnny ( who had blone hair Like Dexter's sister DeeDee) was the "Guinea Pig" ( as well as hi dog Dukey) for Susan & Mary's experiments.& it just started airing it's fourth season on Canada's Teletoon. But it should never be compared in any way with Dexter's Labratory which was a far better show.

  • Yeah, I totally see where you're coming from with that :D.

  • and yet you just did.

  • so true so true!

  • Yeah that show blows. It's a prime example of just how little people give a shit about cartoons now compared to even 5 or 6 years ago. The only good cartoons nowadays are Japanese.

  • Wurr. Johnny Test sucks, but it's not true that the only good cartoons are Japanese :/ I'm personally rather fond of Chowder, and Flapjack's pretty good too :B.

  • Actually yeah it is true. Comparing even those semi-decent American cartoons to animes or any Japanese cartoons in general, the Japanese are far superior.

  • Eh. I like anime, most of the time I'm listening to Japanese music, but I disagree about Japanese being superior -- i'm not racist -- but I think that they're both equal, really.

No, okay, there's more good animes than there is good cartoons (that are currently showing, I mean x'D Cancelled ones don't count~), but.. I had a point somewhere in here. And it was a /good/ point.

  • How would you be racist to say that the Japanese are more talented artists? All most Americans do is splatter paint and call it art, whereas the Japanese actually put effort lol.

But yeah anime is far superior to cartoons, they just have a lot more effort put into them and they're more interesting.

  • I didn't want to appear racist by saying that Japanese weren't superior o_o; Granted, I /did/ just get up when I wrote that, so it might not make much sense.

And.. well, there's the whole thing. If you've actually got /proof/ that Americans don't put effort into their art... well. You're obviously not going to change your opinion, I've got no interest in changing your opinion anyway, and I'm just going to end this conversation here because it's kind of pointless for me to go on :p.

  • I dunno about that. I can name cartoons released in the last 10 years that were made in America (or in this sense North America since Johnny Test is Canadian made) and are better or equal to anime and I can do that clearheadedly because I do watch anime and cartoons.

  • Ugh, if you're implying that Johnny Test is a good show and on par with anime, you must be on some kind of really bad drugs. The animation is halfassed, there's no depth, it's mindless and cheesy, it's racist, need I go on?

  • ...wait how is Johnny Test racist? I mean yeah, it's dumb but it's for a young child audience, thus meeting it's set goal: entertaining children.

No, I'm talking Justice League (and JLU), Transformers Animated, Avatar, Grim Adventures, Metalocalypse, Danny Phantom, Samurai Jack (which is on par with some of the best animes I've seen), and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot

  • Yeah it's racist, at least the tidbits I've seen when my parents made us switch back from Fios to Cox. (Thankfully that was corrected) but still, just because somethign is for little kids doesn't mean it needs to be as shitty as Johnny test.

Those are all definitely good shows (transformers animated 2007 is a good show for little kids, but the original transformers is better for older kids).

The way I see it is that with only a handful of good american shows, the Japanese do it better.

  • I would not say that G1 Transformers isn't better. I'd say Transfomers Animated had a more deeper storyline than G1, which suffered from "Great season 1 and 1/2 of season 2, but seasons after were basically giant toy commercials".

  • I haven't seen the new animated transformers in a few years since it came out but from what i saw it was very childish and a bad attempt at cashing in on the movie.

  • Season 2 and Season 3 made the show great. It held a good back story involving Sari's past and the dirty secret between fellow Autobots.

  • well not all anime is good and america has some good cartoons like flapjack and total drama island/action but that dosent mean it dosent have it's share af bad shows like jhonny test and spongebob

  • I didn't say ALL anime was great, there's some pretty crappy ones (Like Peach Girl or Hunter X Hunter) and yes America does have SOME good shows. And Spongebob is a good one, why do you think it's so popular even with teenagers?

  • Wait...you think that Spongebob is a good American show? Really?

    Mkay...

  • Yeah, it is. It may be plotless and a little weird and obnoxious, but it's funny and that counts alot when it comes to those kinds of shows. Whether or not it makes people laugh.

  • I love you. Please marry me.

  • @SecretSoyGuy You mean the show that, while later on it decayed, was formerly an actually funny show that made clever use of its underwater location crossed over with real life? Why would you bash probably the most successful American cartoon series ever. I don't really watch it any more...at all...but I'm not going to listen to someone say it's not at least a formerly good show.

  • @SecretSoyGuy yes it is fucking chink

  • 4kids ruined yu gi oh D':

  • This is my list of animes that 4KIDS should never dubbed.

    Science Ninja Team Gatchaman

    Samurai Pizza Cats

    Yattaman (2008 remake)

    Speed Racer

A OVA based off Sonic Chronicles.

    Tekkaman the Space Knight.

  • You do realize 4Kids had nothing to do with most of those, right? Other irresponsible dubbers like Saban and Sandy Frank had their hands in the worst of them.

  • Yeah but they did better then 4KIDS and 4KIDS would butcher any anime they get their hands on.

  • Thank you Tatsunoko for making this anime not add one of them in Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2.

  • I prefer the English version. I doubt the Japanese version is as delightfully corny.

  • the whole show is diffrent. the english takes itself less serious, but thats what i like abourt the english one.

  • The american producers got the show, but not the translation. In other words, they had to look at each episode and make up a script from scratch.

  • And that's why, my friend, is why Samurai Pizza Cats & Kyattō Ninden Teyandee are the most epic shows any child or teen can enjoy.

  • I'm not too familiar with this show, but it's interesting to watch this intro back-to-back with the English version. They're SO different!

  • I gotta admit, I'm use to the English intro, but I have to say that this intro was pretty decent and worth a watch

We know the show in the U.S. as "Samurai Pizza Cats", but what was it known as in Japan?

  • Kyattō Ninden Teyandee.

  • OK, now a second question rose up in my skull

What does "Kyattō Ninden Teyandee" mean in English?

I got a strong feeling that "Kyattō" means "Cat" in Japanese, but, I'm not sure, I never had Japanese lessons in School

  • A very loose translation of the Japanese title is Cat Ninja Legend Teyandee or Surprising Group Ninja Legend Teyandee. The word キャット pronounced kyatto is a transliteration of the English word cat, but the title uses the kanji 党 (tō—group) with the katakana キャ (kya—an onomatopoeia indicating surprise), so the title contains a pun. The slang word teyandee can be considered roughly equivalent to the phrase, What the hell are you talking about?

    That's Wiki for ya.

  • And just so we're all clear, "teyandei" literally means "day-and-day" or something similar, and doesn't have anything to do with "teyandee".

  • Wasn't that cute cat girl at the halfway point actually a guy or something? I remember something like that.

  • English version owns this 10x over by far!

  • Hey, they both got their merits:

The Japanese version's got a better soundtrack and is more drama-based, but the English version is funnier (without that version, I doubt we'd know it even WAS Japanese.).

  • There's something good about both of them, although I am still partial to the English version. Thanks for putting this up on YouTube!

  • remember how many times the catapult misfired and the poor cats get smashed thru buildings...hours of fun.

  • in what part does that happen?

  • this version of this song sound great, i like it.

    thanks for the song.

  • Wow, I like this intro, specifically near the end where Speedy and Bad Bird clash.

  • when did this anime first come out in japan?

  • About a year before the English dub.

  • English version is so much more corny

  • who is the cute rabbit? I have a feeling she'll be my fav character^^

  • UsaHime

On Samurai Pizza Cats she's known as Princess Vi.

  • ok. when my friend told me about Samurai Pizza Cats, I thought he might of been joking because of the name. But now that I've seen the intro, I have to say it's cute^^

  • OMG I get Nostalgic~ XD

  • thanks =)

now i know them again =p

  • I'd love these cats i watched them when i was 5/6 i think =)

but the older i get(17) i forgot their name!!!

can someone tell me the names again?

the blue one was the best

    i only remember the white(speedy) ;)

  • Speedy Cerviche (white cat with the sword), Polly Ester (red cat), Guido Anchovy (blue cat), and Francine (the green cat that always stays at the pizza joint).

  • Huh, odd, I'm getting a very 'Ducktales' vibe from the Japanese version of the opening that I never got off of the American version... anyone else?

  • totally

  • nice

    but the english is funny

but this got better scenes in it

  • This one sounds like a typical anime intro. And the English one was also very typical of a 90's cartoon.

I guess I prefer the English for being the one I used to hear as a kid... But if it was reversed I'd say the same thing.

  • tell me about it.

  • The song lyrics during that part say "They're metal ninjas with tails". So there's a reason for it.

  • The English intro is a lot more fun, they goof around a lot more.

  • I like the English intro better

  • This is the best anime songs of all time!

  • I prefer Shampoo's "Yappapa" and Mink's "Watashi no Tamagoyaki".

  • This one is more peaceful than the western one, it even gives off a traditional/cultural Japanese aura.

Thanks a lot for the cultural bit. :)

  • this is cool/cute. the english one is cheesy/funny :p...

  • Anybody know where I can get the Japanese opening in audio format? ;_;

  • actually yes, you should search 'youtube video to mp3' on here lol

  • I like it in both actually, japanese and english. The english one's funny but the japanese one's cute and peppy and it makes meh smile ^_^

  • English and Spanish , they are the best openning version for me

  • Make you wonder WHY did Saban turned the "Shogun Fox" charater into a rat? RATS DO NOT & I REPEAT DO NOT HAVE BUSHY TAILS LIKE FOXES!!!

  • the japanese one is better as the german one...much better!!!

  • Wow, that's really...way different. Hate to say it, but I like the english intro better. You know, more cheesy. ;)

  • same here, i like the english one better, but both are good

  • The english one is indeed much better, I just can't connect with the Japanese one at all though it is peppy ^^

  • i say it's better in japanese

  • I remember this song from an animutation, now I know where it came from...

  • Did they actually still deliver pizza in the Jap version? For some reason I thought they didn't.

  • Yes. Remember that aside from outright cuts or minute alterations to things like onscreen text, the actual animation is the same in both versions.

  • I actually prefer the american version only for the craziness and the drunk feeling I get when I try to sing along

  • Ahh, the Samurai Pizza Cats, I remember these guys from when I was a kid. Its great to finally see what the Japanese version was like :D The song is great, although I think its a shame the videogame that this show spawned sucked so bad :(
