@horsefanatic2 it was a cool thing to go bridleless in the snow...it was only our second time without track, and our first time riding in the snow ; )
The snow with this is awesome!! So lucky to have snow...we've had 1 snow in the last 30 years and by the time we were going to ride it was all mush!! Sassy looks like she had a very fun ride as well!!
@jessep500 We get snow up here very rarely too. This year we ended up having a snowstorm, followed by an icestorm, followed by a windstorm, which we are currently experiencing.
Such a wonderful video Doug! The snow is so beautiful and it looks like Sassy is having as much fun as you are lol! And the Mozart music goes perfect with it! Favorited! :)
Wow Sassy is such a great horse! I never rode in the snow before, but really want to! :) You are lucky to have a horse, let alone such an amazing one! ;) great ridding as well :O)
@ILOVESTORM100 Thank you, my dear. I would be happy if I rode half as well as you do. ; ) Sassy puts up with me, though, and teaches me to be a little better every day.
@jibbberjabbber666 Thank you so much! I'm used to hearing crit after crit and maybe a few compliments, so thanks for bringing me up! ;) Ur a great rider too! :)
well good.Thing was when I road bareback mine was comfy horse good to ride trot ,canter or walk. She felt good and We moved well togeather.I could just kinda sit leaning and she,d turn or what ever I wanted. She was a grade morgan build.Buckskin.What,s you,re faviorite ride trail or corral?Season?

@7466309change The one I put on her actually has a big nice fluffy undercoating of wool which keeps up both pretty comfortable. I think I paid about $75 for it. For around $200 you can get them with gel (like in track shoes) for even more cushion. ; )
@kammisue Took me a long time to get my shipment of snow from my friend in Canada, but I will try to send some your way...we have plenty of it now! ; )
Hey Doug...You finally got your snowy ride.!!Love the video.Sassy looks just beautiful. She is a very tall young lady!!The music reminds me of the old Bugs Bunny cartoon that my brother and I use to watch every Saturday on CBC tv.LOL.I eally dont want to think about how long ago that was!!
@NewfieSherry Thank you! Now we are COVERED in the stuff. Yeah, the old Looney Tunes used to have all kinds of classical music. "In my day," you could even learn from the cartoons... ; )
Sassy's head is just perfect. She looks like a quality western trail horse with that natural neck and head position. This can be hard to train into any horse much less an OTTB. She looks great. She is just so cute anyway that this achievement after surgery really speaks to her owner and to her abilities. Her potential is unlimited.
@gcpropertymanagement Thank you, Mary. Sassy and I did work out a verbal cue for her to keep her head and midline straight. It also works wonders against spooks. If something suddenly catches her attention and her head goes up, she responds automatically now to "keep your head down and pay attention," which keeps her from thinking about bug-bears and shadows. Thanks again, as always, for your wonderful comment!
@iRiD3PONi3S We are still working on it, but it mainly came through using leg cues more and more and less and less with the reins until we were eventually able to just take them off ; )
The two of you are so beautiful together.
