so...this gig never got mastered? wheres the CD? I mean, this is a rare collective : alfredo de la Fe, Mike Vinyas, Patato, Puente and Jorge Dalto. Somebody is sitting on a pile of money...hahaha...I always enjoy Puentes small groups, everyone gets a fair chance and nobody overplays anyone.
This is wonderful! The album is one of my favorites of all time. Does a video of the performance of Morning exist? It would be a great pleasure to see.
I remember playing that LP until all the grooves on the vinyl were gone ! May the memories of all the ones we lost, live forever in our hearts. Jimmy from the Bronx..VAYA
The violinist is Alfredo de la Fe - he was a monster jazz violinist! patato is awesome. Jorge Dalto was unbelievable. This was Tito Puente at his best. They used to play at the now defunct Village Gate in NYC. Saw them live a bunch of times with Dizzie Gillespie and the like! Incredible group. Can't beleive most are gone! Thanks to all for this blissful music.
Love Tito and his pianist the great Jorge Dalto! I had the pleasure of meeting Jorge in NYC when he played for Ann Jillian in the Village - what a great musician and truly a nice guy! I remember his playing on George Benson hits!
I love Jorge Dalto, and this is the very first time I see him on video. Unfairly, he´s virtually unknown in his (and my) native Argentina. Thanks for this posting!! PS: he actually died at 39, not 33- VERY young anyway !
King Tito,Alfredo De la Fe,Carlos Patato Valdez, & the late great Jorge Dalto (one of the greatest jazz pianists of the last 40 years)aka the LPJE All Stars...now that's what I call a band!Jorge's awesome fender rhodes solo on George Benson's In Flight was responsible for gettin' me into this music.Outta this world!
The subject is called My Favorite Things, of J. Coltrane. Great Production of Latin Percussion Company. Single two words Wonderful and Brilliant interpretation of Coltrane.
Between the late Jorge Dalto on piano and Alfredo de la Fe on violin , Tito Puente, Patato Valdes and Mike Vinas for being five guys the sound is ahead of their time, makes me proud of being a Latin jazz fanatico, please post more stuff like this WOW.,

It is not Coltrane's tune, it is from Richard Rodgers, though Coltrane's performances of it are the best of them all.
