Prof - two questions - what do you use for for your whipping line and what is the best method to make a continuous loop out of Amsteel Blue 7/64?

@wilcoxtube The whipping is "Lash-It", another dyneema based cord, thinner, maybe 1.7mm. Harder to answer about the continuous loop in a comment. There are tutorials on HammockForums. Put the following in the google search box "continous loop site : hammockforums X net" where you replace " X" with "." (youtube doesn't let you put in anything approximating a URL) and you'll find it and many other postings

Hey griz, what size dynaglide do you use for the whoopi sling?

basically its a adjustable ridgeline and on the end are tree straps.On the ridgeline you have two prussics with a diamond knot on the end of them,so you can hook them to the continuous loop that is larked to the hammock. you would have the ability to move your hammock just by sliding the prussic knots in the direction you want...

think its doable ?

@fustratedfisher seems to be mixed results on using prussiks that way. Perhaps one of the other climbing hitches that work when the prussik cord and the cord it attaches to are the same, like the Kleimheist. cheers

quick question for you,

couldn't one use the tree straps as they normally do but instead of fasten the whoopi slings to the hammock attach a prussick to the ends then take your tree straps and attach a whoopi sling between the two,hang the straps with the whoopi slings between the trees with two prussics on the line.then hang your hammock to the prussic.you could use a continuous shackle to hook the ends of the hammock to the prussic. basically its an adjustable ridge line .

Interesting, although, by definition, wouldn't the diamond knot be considered hardware? Maybe it should be the "Metal Free Hardware Free Detatchable Hammock Suspension (MFHFDHS)? ;)

What is the name of the thin metal tool you used to pull the loose ends trough the knots?

@REXMARX003 it's called a loop turner. Mine's made by a company called Dritiz. Seems to be widely available in fabric stores, about $4. Handy tool!

excellent idea with the whipping knot. I will have to add that one to my current whoopie slings. I was always concerned about the end slipping off the toggle and this should solve that.
