I've just watched him on TED 2011. He is one amazing man! And Khan Academy is future! No, actually it's present! Thanks to Sal! This guy definitely deserves Nobel's prize!
Wow! Finally - Sal! I must say i thought you are much older than you are! I will never fight your methods again - I promise! And just because you are sooooo lovable!!! :))))
It takes a very smart person to explain the complicated to anyone. It's a jerk who makes it's incomprehensible to show off their listeners. God bless Khan!
yes, unique combination of presentation, in-dephth knowledge and especially his high productivity and energy. For example PatrickJMT has clearer presentations, better detail and accurracy, but he is not nearly as productive.
Totally makes sense to let them learn it at their own pace then come to school and get help...Instead of learning in a short period of time with other students who might either be faster or slower than you and then go home and practice...Totally makes sense to do it the Khan way.
Thanks in part to Khan Academy, I've decided to go back to school after 10 years in the job market, my first semester back just started 2 weeks ago and I know I will be going back to Sal's lectures again and again. Thanks Sal!
1:47- "Was a great *addition* to what we were *already* doing." <--- BullSHIT. The Prussian-based public education system is possibly the shittiest imaginable way to conduct education, with a one-size fits all lecture system that puts children through the meat grinder of any stupid fad that happens to pop up in the heads of education "researchers". Education needs to go entirely the way of Khan Academy with a few modifications; not merely add it as something cursory.
Its not just how he teaches, but also how he talks when he teaches. I've had some online tutors that had good organization and examples, but they were monotone and put me to sleep. He makes things interesting.
@prodigy1605 Yeah I always thought the way he talked was intentional, the way he stresses things and stutters and stumbles over words were all on purpose. The guy's a genius so I think he knows what he's doing.
@gamemaster014 Not that complicated... I just see trig and some sigmas and some graphs. I couldn't do it, but that would be like 2nd or 3rd year engineering major maths? I think?
@gamemaster014 Don't quote me on this, I am only a mathematics, but from the looks of it, it seems to be Quantum Mechanics (in particular, the Schrödinger equation, iħ δΨ/δt).
