  • He's probably mad he spent $2,500 on a mac pro, because he realized that he could get an equal or better pc for $1,000 less.

  • okay so what makes a mac pro a mac pro is only its ascetics and the apple logo? not its specs?

  • I have a xeon chip in my hackintosh :)

  • Rednecks thinking they know about professional computers XD

  • Wtf?? this guy makes no sense at all, he has no idea on what his talking about.... he changes the info on his own advantage. Lame kid. And fag :)

  • I bet I could buy a bunch of mac parts and build a mac computer in one day for about a third of the price of a mac pro. You have no idea what you are talking about. Have you ever seen a real custom computer?

  • /watch?v=HaQvBbzslJE

  • well, I was talking about stripping the sound and video hardware from the motherboard then rebuilding with high quality chipsets and reroughting power, it's alot of precise work, but worth it considering mine is a beefy package, and I saved good money,

  • Who needs a damn warranty? This would have more computing power and GFlops then a Mac pro.

    EVGA-Sr2

    2x Intel Xeon 5680 Hexacores (HT= 24 treads)

4x GTX 480 in Quad Sli

    48gb (12 x 4gb) 1600mhz DDR3

  • and the mac pro is not that good....and specs are everything....they preform the calculations....they create the speed.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR TAKING ABOUT

LETS SEE THAT MAC PRO PLAY A PS3 EMU WITH NO LAG

LETS SEE THAT MAC PRO SUPPORT WATERCOOLING

    GET THE FUCK OUT

THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF i7 400$ to 1500$

  • @skaterguy1423 A PC can't even run a PS3 emulator. PS3 is so different from the PC, that we won't play PC games on computer for another 20 or so years.

  • @BigdogWitBigdog your so fucken stupied....all you need is a 1gb grafics card, 3.42 processor, blue ray, and a decent hack site. something i have, and i use to play games for free

  • The only thing you "own" is an inept command of the English language.

  • of course the imac runs hotter. there's less room for air to move inside, therefore the heat won't dissipate. The macpro has more air flow and therefore can dissipate more heat. that's a poor comparison. if you want to compare something (hardware) compare actual facts. like rendering times. render something on your macpro and then render something on your imac and compar the times.

  • Both the Xeon and i7 are Nehelam based.

    1. Xeon processors are intended for servers and workstations, while Core i7 processors are for desktop PCs.

    2. Core i7 features a better virtualization and digital media experience, which supports photo creation and publishing, video encoding and more complex games.

    3. Xeon is a successor to Pentium II, while Core i7 is a successor to the Core 2 family.

  • @CJCA915 Cont.

    4. Xeon processors are more expensive, with a price range of $167.00 – $3157.00. Core i7 has a price range of $284.00 – $562.00.

lol, ur i7 running at 145 F or C? an i7 is an i7 jack ass, it don't matter what the fuck it comes in!

  • My 27" iMac idles around 110 degrees, wonder why yours runs so damn hot?

  • @iPCARMY dude, my computer is that hot at prime 95 load, it idles at 77. it's on air too.

  • i own an imac a macbook pro an iphone3gs an ipad 3g and wifi

  • i own an imac 21inch a macbook pro and an ipad an even i think this guy is an idiot..sorry bud your arguments just aren't intelligent. there from a fans prospective

  • he dose know who the imac is focused on and who the mac pro is focused on dosent he. its funny cause hes making such a fool of himself

  • Jesus Christ. i7 and Xeon are the same chips. Xeon has a premium cost due to its server based controller.

YOU CANT COMPARE AN iMac to a Mac Pro in heat issues. the iMac is a FUCK tonne smaller = less heat dissipation ability.

Yes, Mac Pro is a specialised system...thats for sure. But you can get the EXACT SAME performance with a PC.

I reckon you just love Mac for its design of the case. Each to their own i say. But if that what your arguing about...grow the fuck up

  • Comment removed

  • you can get more performance. the mac pro is not properly compatible with high end graphics card. so you can only get 2gb in total on its graphics card whereas there are several pc motherboards that will accept at least 8gb of dedicated graphics memory. the mac pro just wont do it.

  • @DrR1pper

    YESSS WELL PUT

  • So all i have to do to have a mac pro equivalent is to buy an xeon processor Who! lol. Mined you i don't think i need two processors for the 3d work i do =P. Oh and don't forget the motherboard. Mined you what version of the xeon can you buy with the mac pro's? are they the 1336 slot chips or earlier? because if you cant get the 1336 ones then they are not the new xeon chips. Apple doesn't seem to have any info so just curious.

  • Xeon is a Server Chip XD

  • xeon or i7 has no match w/ GPGPu "CUDA"

  • gay stupid

  • There is more in computers then specs...yes, love and peace...xD

i7 = Xeon for WORKSTATIONS, why? Xeons are made for Servers, for machines working 24/7 (with features only servers need) and not for simple workstations...and i say it...my custom built AMD Phenom II is better then your Mac Pro...

  • Your Phenom is better than a...

    Wow.

    Are you stupid?

How is your piece of shit custom build AMD Phenom II better in ANY way than his Mac Pro.

I'm curious. Give me a solid explanation of your claim. I demand one.

  • @zak9456: Faster CPU(OC @ 4Ghz)? more stable? Faster GPU (2xHD4870 Crossfire) very important for ComputeShader(GPGPU)? Faster HDD (2xIntelX25Raid0, yes the next step for more performance will be SATA 3)? BluRay Drive? That baby blast the little MacPro away...but i do not need to compare my machine to a MacPro...i have no dual socket motherboard...i do not need it...he on the other side has not 2 PCIE Slots, he has not 2 SSDs...so why should i compare a gaming machine to a workstation?

  • @bluefisch200

You SHOULDN'T compare a gaming machine to a workstation. I just thought you were another one of those people that like to comment on Eric's videos with shit computers and say that their' are better than his. I've seen so many.

    Sorry for sounding rude.

  • so do i, a shitty custom build PC is never going to be as good as a Mac Pro.

  • @zak9456 Lol,que,mac fanboy?

His Phenom II build can do everything and more for THOUSANDS less than mac "pro" and a Phenom II system also costs less than a built Intel system.

  • @MasterNaruto1214 why don't we all just mod acer netbooks , for example firmware upgrades, mine has lots of goodies.

  • @DavidPennable Do the firmware upgrades help the netbook's performance?

Acer netbooks look nice and you can get them loaded for less than some other netbooks.

  • @MasterNaruto1214 well, I was talking about stripping the sound and video hardware from the motherboard then rebuilding with high quality chipsets and reroughting power, it's alot of precise work, but worth it considering mine is a beefy package, and I saved good money,

  • @DavidPennable I know its not possible to change out the audio and video chipsets built onto a laptop motherboard, how did you rebuild them on your netbook?

  • nubtard

  • And please, get some real facts, I know you are not tech savy but at least do some research. If you are going to illustrate the difference in quality against one thing or the other, please use technical differences not price and looks...

  • This guy... man I really hate you, but you are a very good show... ignorance is not funny, well may be for the ones looking at you like the hundreds of PC enthusiast watching your video like my self. OK so you just proved that Apple computers are HOT, but we are talking about heat... go any PC overclocking forum and you will see what I'm talking about. Even a mainstream PC cooler will give you much lower temps on a stock CPU, what a marvelous machine you have...

  • ok i see what you mean, if its just as fast and has the same hardware its not as good because the mac pro has a fancy case and the mac os

  • @ gigabit86

Its not the fance case but the OS indeed has a great influence on the pc's performance. example? ok take vista wich cannot be denied that it has some nice new features but it is really not an effecient OS. The CPU usage can get high even in iddle state my old pc (with vista and a Q9450 2.66 GHz 4 core processor) would sometimes jump to 15% CPU usage in iddle state while my macbook with a 2.0GHz dual core running on leopard never goes above 4% in iddle state

  • the point i was trying to make is with the same hardware, with better software its not worth 100-500 extra dollars especially in this economic climate

  • 10/10, would rage again.

    >More to computers than specs

    Do tell.

    >Mac Pro "Engineering Marvel"

    'nuff said

    >Make a video to prove you own both

Sorry no one is as stupid as you to buy both.

  • Why don't you allow people to post video response that critic your words?

    Afraid you may get TOLD???

  • Well then tells us what those "little things" are, that make the mac pro better than a custombuild pc.

Oh yea i forgot. I can't build a aircooled computer cooler than that. And that's what special about the mac pro.

btw, lol at the additional ending... You'd buy anything new apple made.

  • sup /g/

  • By constantly screaming the temperature of your Macs, what point were you making? No shit the Mac Pro is going to run cooler. Doesn't make it more efficient, or whatever point you were trying to make.

  • "Just because you have a custom PC with the same specs, does not make it as good as the Mac Pro"

    lol whut

  • I was going to post something serious

    Custom Builds

    from HP

  • This is a troll. The guy doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, plain and simple.

  • okay I7 and Xeons arent in the same class Xeons are server class cpu's

the only thing that would make mac pro's appear faster would be the operating system no hardware will set them apart built to the same specifications

  • A Mac is the same as a PC if it weren't for the operating system. Nuff said.

  • It's the same no matter the OS is, do we call a computer with XP instead of Vista something else, besides a PC? No.

A Mac is a PC, period.

  • That is what a I meant. They are both just computers with different OS's. I hate this whole entire PC vs MAC fanboy war with thousands of kids and apple soldier raging all over YouTube.

A computer is a computer. Apple just somehow made everyone think though that a PC only uses a Windows OS. Its stupid.

  • Amen.

  • why u talk so much. shut ur mouth. boring bullshit

  • LOL nerd rage

  • that mac mini was pretty cool

  • LOL is this a troll video ? intel is planning to stop producing Xeon in favor of i7 because it's faster and performs better, i7 will be targeted at server, i5 & i3 for desktop users, Mac are only good for A/V nothing really else

PS: custom PCs are made also to work full time 24/7 all year round, just look at google custom build servers

  • OK AppleSoldier please explain how a Xeon is better.

Some i7 are faster, more processing power, same or less power usage. So aside from costing more money than an i7 in what way is a Xeon better. What spec?

  • ECC support and multi socket support for the 5500 series.

  • So basically unless you need or want an OCT core you don't need a Xeon?

  • Intel Xeon have more things in them to make them faster

You can buy them for both computers pc and mac but these things are really expensive

They're great for crunching numbers like video editing and photo editing or 3d

Hope this clears this up for you both of you

  • Go home cry boy

  • I doubt you could build a custom build in a case like an iMac, therefore it is impossible to compare. Just like you said with watercooling.

  • You say it's not about performance well in most PC users view it's all that matters and your high spec mac pro isn't shit against a true custom build it's just an overpriced OEM if MS made a PC do you think we would buy it like feck would.

  • i agree with you apple solider there is nothing like a mac pro..and believe me i own an i7 and ive used both and man i cant wait to even touch a i7 imac

  • snipurl com/theky

There's your amazing Xeon (for the quad-core 2.66 GHz Mac Pro) - oh cool, an i7 with ECC support.

I beat the living hell out of my desktops. I've left this motherfucker running OCCT for 24 hours straight and it didn't skip a beat. How? Proper airflow and hardware that doesn't suck (e.g. not buying a $50 motherboard like AdobePC would.)

    Still runs fine.

  • I have had Celeron CPUs render 3-D animation for 4 days straight. I must be doing something right.

  • Just beacuse the xeon's cost more it does not make it better you I-D-I-O-T

  • Oh, emeek, have any comment on the dead on arrival iMacs?

  • Yeh that's an interesting one. Screens broken etc. Inadequate packing possibly?

Also I would like to hear Emeek's comments about Applecare and smoker's Macs. As Emeek is a smoker, and will have Applecare with that new iMac of his.

  • I sawa that Mac Mini case a while ago and I want to get it but I can't find out where.

  • Also Custom building is fun im getting into it lately for GAMING but if i had to choose i would pick a MacPro over a custom build anyday

  • Ok well first off I love macs and im a supporter for emeek he is a legend and second the i7 is a beast of a chip and its a very popular chip for GAMERS to put in there computers

Apple knew it was a real good fast chip so ofcourse they put it in there CONSUMER iMac but for video editing 3d modeling and doing hours and hours of work the Xeon is a better chip and that why it is in the Mac Pros and also in other PC WORKSTATIONS.

  • the i7 in the $999 HP actually out-benchmarked the Xeon 5500 series in the Mac Pro, and the Xeon costs $30 more. Xeon is NOT better at this point, don't bother until the i9 comes out.

  • ok ZOUL, and ADOBEPC custom build machines will never have what all macs have.....OSX!

    Nuff said.

  • @Revollving, try to actually give a reason, don't just blindly agree.

  • OSX is better than windows...nuff said.

I dont agree with everything emeek says but OSX is far better than windows. Workstation, home use, offfice use, OSX is better. Its what makes all Macs, Macs.

  • Great, we'll all just take your word for it.

  • Revollving,

I suggest you watch my latest video. I never backdown from a challenge. Look at what my $600.00 Windows Vista system did. It did the same thing as the so called $2499.00 Mac Pro work station. There are no jump cuts in my video either until the last 2.5 minutes. That is after the hot swapping.

The PCs can hot swap better than the Mac Pros and my video proves it. My $600.00 system is trayless unlike the Mac Pro.

  • ....Mac Pro's aren't made to do Hot Swap as a feature.

  • Cost does not equal quality (EVGA 285). A single i7 > single Xeon. A dual Xeon workstation will eat an i7 alive in ALMOST every way. Hot-swappable raid (5) is not exclusive to a Mac nor Apple. Why even talk about servers when talking about Macs. The Apple big iron Mac Pro running OSX? Apple does not own Intel, Nvidia, ATI etc. What exactly in a Mac is made by Apple that is superior to a PC? Does the Xeon in a Mac come in pink and glow and sparkle?

  • Wow you PC fanboys are incredible lol. Stop bashing Apple all the fucking time. Apple has done A LOT for the computer business and people don't seem to realize that. Most everyone has something that is Apple related. How many people have an iPhone? How many people use iTunes? How many have an iPod? If you added those numbers up, it would blow your mind. I'm not a fanboy and quite frankly, I will never be

  • Assholesoldier,

You should have watched my newest video before posting such bullshit.

You are the one who does not get assholesoldier.

The Mac Mini at the end looks pathetic.

  • that mac mini looks bitchin.

  • Ok, now you've gone and done it, YOU'RE THE FUCKING ASSHOLE YOU DIPSHIT, GET YOUR FUCKING HATING ASS OFF OF YOUTUBE!!!

  • Applesoldier is constantly bashing PCs you idiot. All we do is correct his ignorance. Deal with it you fucking asshole piece of shit.

  • I like PC's, I like Mac's.... really I do, but when it comes down to it you ignorant asshole AppleSolder has got a point, you have a point to... I agree with you both... BOTH of you are ignorant fan boy's... I'm an ignorant Fanboy but when it come's down to it... MACS ARE FUCKING BETTER!! They're built better, work better, and are all-a-fucking-round better. Get it, got it, fucking GOOD.

  • you mad?

  • Mac Pro - Marathon Runer / Server quality rig

iMac - Sprinter / High speed rig

  • What the hell is this guy talking about? I have a 5 year old Compaq that I've kept on for months at a time and I've never had to replace a part because it broke. I did upgrade a few components, but that's because I wanted an improvement and not because of necessity. Now I use it as a companion computer for my custom build. I leave it running 24/7 rendering videos and uploading videos and the hottest the cpu gets is 46 degrees C (115 F). Looks like imac's aren't as efficient as a $600 midtower.

  • The Xeon level CPU's are for workstations & servers (which we all know).

The i7 is fast but it's for advanced level home and consumers. Speed is one thing, another is

what each chip/system was created for. So on this issue, Zoul is incorrect at comparing them.

  • Zoul admits this. In fact, in his third video that Eric is responding to, he quite clearly stated it. He was demonstrating how flawed Eric's comparisons were with his own. However, Eric is too selectively "intelligent" to comprehend this.

  • I'm A Mac. Always will be. That's funny with the Mac Mini being that I just got my first Mac and that's what it is. Great Videos though. Nothing can replace the awesomeness of a Mac, that's for sure.

  • i7 is faster than xenon proof the imacs are faster than mac pro

  • HP Z800 Workstation (FL879UT) is $3,635 has a NVIDIA Quadro FX180, built in HW RAID, 3 yr warranty and free shipping.

Mac Pro is $3,648 with needed RAID CARD, ATI Radeon HD 4870, same CPU, same Memory, and AppleCare warranty.

Watch the demo video on the HP Z800 it's a great workstation-also. The build quailty and form factor looks great. Apple isn't the only OEM that make a great workstation.

  • Windows is GAY.

  • Really? oh I guess thats a good enough reason to not buy something......

  • Windows is happy? Really, I didn't know that, hmmm.

I am happy using Windows, never been happy the times I used OSX, the thing never wanted to recognized my flash drive.

  • ahahahahahaha your so full of shit. a flash drive will show up in os x even if it is a windows ntfs partition. a flash drive wont show up in windows if its formatted to os x jornaled

  • ahahahahahaha no, I am not.

    Were you there? No.

I always had to pull my flash drive out at least once, while in OSX Leopard.

  • learn how flash drives work then get back to me.

  • lol, I know how they work, I plug it into my Windows machine, and it installed the drivers for it automatically, and boom, appeared in My Computer.

  • Yes normally one can plug a flash drive into a Windows box, and boom it's there in My Computer and the Explorer.

But what I always see is when plugging a NEW flash drive into a Windows system. Windows always goes through this ritual of Detecting New Hardware..and generally thrashing the HDD for almost a minute, before it appears. This happens on XP, Vista and 7. It's quite annoying.

OS X and Linux don't do this ritual, they just mount that NEW flash drive instantly.

  • I never had that occur when I plugged in a new flash drive, so I don't know what what was going on, mine always installed within about 10-15 seconds.

  • It's normally about 45-55 second here with the laptops I've got, before a new USB drive is accessible. What I don't get it why Windows even has to detect it as new hardware and install drivers? Surely Windows already knows about USB drives, the drivers should already be in there.

It even happens when an already used USB drive is plugged into a different port on the same PC. Was quite disappointed when I seen Windows 7 going through the same antics.

  • Wow, my SAI in JROTC, had a laptop with a Centrino in it, and it never took that look to recognize my USB drive.

Some USB flash drives need specific drivers and software, that's why they need to be installed first.

It's not that big of a deal to me, b/c I usually plug my USB drive into the same spot.

I think this problem is a tiny thing, it's not that big of a deal to most people, as long as it recognizes it, etc.

  • i have a mini, i i could buy one of those i would! that is so sick!

  • sik mac mini lol

  • lol 5 stars for the godlike mac mini at the end

  • Depends how good your eyes are, I like to keep it around 60 FPS, 40 FPS seems laggy. some call it a ocular illusion, but 60 feels smoother. it also matters the game, like left for dead 2 is very cpu hungry when you have a giant horde of zombies on a laptop cpu.

  • There isn't actually a set limit of the frames the eye can't see beyond, it's just that images are considered "fluid" at 24 and above. So aye, you're right there. It depends on the game, fast paced action games require higher frames than say a slower paced stealth game. More frames are generally better, but remember your monitor has something to say about that too! You can have the most awesome set up ever but a meh display and vsync can throw all that extra power out the window lol.

  • any pc can run for weeks jesus what a moron

  • Doing nothing or very little maybe, but he was on about RENDERING constantly. It pushes your CPU pretty hard when encoding media formats or 3D models and so on. Those sustained throughputs are going to push a regular set up (Mac or otherwise) to their limits before they start to show signs of strain. The Mac Pro and other workstations are designed for those sort of tasks, which is why they use the more expensive server grade hardware, because they can take heavy loads for long periods.

  • once again i can have the same xeon server/i7 setup like a mac and just becuase it has osx and a mac sticker doesnt mean it will run better or longer.

  • You could have the same set up yes, but OSX DOES run better than Windows. It honestly does. It's more efficient at resource management and has less overhead, so gets more done with the same amountf of hardware than Windows does. There are areas where the opposite is true, but for the majority of things OSX does do the same tasks as Windows, faster. Remember OSX is written for set hardware configs, so it's only logical that it'll get more out fo that hardware than Windows with its generic support

  • its not the Os that matters if its faster for the average consumers, its the application. if Adobe apps are faster and better on Windows, why would they get a mac? makes no sense. Any person can pick up a core i7 from dell or hp for cheap, not as cheap as building, but still is a damn good deal. I choose the platform that has the better application version, or best app. if someone wanted to get a machine for 3ds max or auto cad would it be best to get a mac? Of course not.

  • The OS has a lot to do with it. If the OS runs better than the Apps on top of it have the potential to run better. Adobe dropped the balls with Apple recently, they're still using the old codebase for the latest version of Creative Suite. CS5 should clear that up as they've rewritten it all in Cocoa 64bit. 3DS Max isn't what it used to be, Maya is king, but for game dev it's still common due to the DX API it runs on. AutoCAD, yep, totally right, only one option there right now sadly.

  • The Os does, but you act like Windows is super slow, its not at all. the Mac Os is not like ten times faster than Windows, for the most part its less than ten percent at certain tasks. Windows is better at networking, 3d modeling/animation, etc than Mac OSX. I don't give a rip about boot times, Dos is a faster Os, why not use that?

  • No, OS X does not run better than Windows, and unless you have some factual data that you have collected that is proven to be unbiased, and completely fair to both platforms, you should stop spewing shit out of your mouth.

  • I've had my PC running for days simulating fluid simulations, and using Prime95 for 24 hours straight. Prime95 taxes the CPU harder than rendering does.

  • yo emeek, i posted a comment on your channel about a similar mac mini enclosure to the one you just showed! check it out.. keep up the good work

  • Oh dear now emeek thinks an i7 pc can't run 24/7 coz his imacs a hit plate, LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Difference between i7 and Xeon using vehicle analogy (as everyone loves those).

i7 = Ferarri. High performance sports car, get's you to where you want to be fast.

Xeon = Truck. Not as fast, but moves a hell a lot more per trip than the Ferarri, and as such moves more stuff in the same time frame as said Ferarri.

You wouldn't use a Ferarri in a courier service, and you wouldn't use a truck in a speedway race.

Two different tools for two different jobs.

  • that analogy makes no sense. i7 and nehalem xeon of the same speed are basically as fast and can do as much work as one another. I think the analogy you meant is between a car with normal oil and a car with synthetic. The car with synthetic should be able to work longer and harder even though its just as fast. but I havent seen that difference between a xeon and a normal chip.

  • Xeons have a different memory controler that allows them to handle far more than an i7, and EEC. It also takes the job of the "FB" DIMMS of old onto that memory controler. You used to require Fully Buffered DIMMS on Xeon CPU's but the new Nehalem based Xeons do all that extra leg work on die. That's another reason for their extra cost. They're also "hardened" as it were for much more prolonged sustained workloads and have a higher thermal envelope as far as I know.

  • "That's another reason for their extra cost."

    $30.

  • lol the ending was pretty funny xD

  • I haven't turned off my macbook pro for 4 months and it's still running fine with no problems whatsoever.

  • We've got a 15 inch MBP running in the house here, which has more or less been continuously on since May of 2008. And only ever gets rebooted for the occasional OS update. It's what I'm currently using to post this comment.

There is also an Acer entertainment laptop in the other room, which has done the same sort of service as the MBP. That's still working just great as well.

  • Hey do not get mad at me Apple Soldier, but your voice reminds me of "Butters" from "South Park" : ).

  • who is zoul

  • I am zoul.

  • ha ha he called you out

  • lol that mac mini is cute

  • As a Mac Pro owner, I can say it beats the crap out of the high end i7 I built.

  • that tell us nothing. for all we know, your mac pro could be the dual 2.93 ghz with 12 gb of ram and your i7 could be 2.66 with 3 gb of ram. tell us what the computers actually are and then you can make the statement.

  • actually one point that apple Soldier has made about water cooling not that in itself say gammer all over it. only a gammer would get water cooling so that components can be overclocked I used to do this back in the day when I was a hard core PC gammer. But over the last 10 years of doing it PC gamming rigs become very expensive because you are constantly upgrading components to get cutting edge parts all the time. eventually you wake up to the fact and buy a sensible OEM computer

  • A pc only gets as expensive as you let it. Its not as if intel come kicking down your door because you've not updated to the latest cpu. YOU buy the upgrades, so ultimately its your fault if it gets too expensive.

  • only speaking for the Hardcore gammers out there when i say that.

Hardcore gammers will spend thousands of dollars per year on there computers to ensure that they run games at Max performance.

  • Wake up to the fact and buy a sensible OEM computer...that you're still going to have to upgrade if you want the same performance.

That post was completely nonsensical and incoherent. I applaud you on your idiocy.

  • first of all my comment wasn't directed at you mate so why the fuck would you care?

you have to upgrade any computer but all you need to upgrade is the essential parts over time. not get novelty items like water cooling and blinking lights, or some performance enhancing part that is used to increase performance on existing parts just to get 200fps or more on games

  • I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that those of us who build our own comptuers all go out and buy Radeon 5970s and GTX 295s on launch day and things of that nature.

  • water cooling is not novelty, the quad core g5 had a water cooling system, "but its not novelty its teh mac"

no one cares about 200 FPS unless it is a game like quake with a crt monitor for almost anything else as long as its above 30 fps at all times its fine.

led lights is the preference of the user. some rigs have the option to turn of the led's in the fans, or I can just cut the wires connecting the led's.

  • lol look up the definition of "gamming" on urban dictionary... I believe you mean gaming XD

  • LOL urban dictionary. Apparently my name (Alexander) means a greek boy who like to masturbate.

  • lol

  • LMAO! :D I just looked up 'gamming' on urban dictionary.

BTW my name 'Mike' means "To do something incredibly stupid. To be retarded and look like an idiot at something." :O

  • Urban Dictionary is the greatest

my name means: Beautiful, intelligent and sexy male, known for their genius and good looks.

  • LOL look up austin. "A Man with a Really big Dick that penetrates hoes like nothin.

*the example they give:* Dude that chick got Austin so hard she had to be put in a wheel chair"

  • i have fun watching yours eric :)

  • Lol, that mac mini is awesome.

  • "Theres more to computers then specs" Well put emeek i couldn't say it better myself.

  • Exactly so go back to emeeks i7 PC vs i7 imac video. Where he built a PC entirely based off specs.

  • How else is Emeek going to get through you PC fanboys heads, all you guys talk about is SPECS. He has no choice but to talk about specs because thats all you guys know and thats why he trying to enlighten you. The Mac Pro is no push over, that thing is the shit. Can your i7 perform an X-GRID? another feature a custom PC cant stand to do.

  • ...Did you honestly just criticize a custom built windows PC for not being able to run a program specifically made for OS X?

Mac users try to act like specs aren't anything after they realize they could have gotten the same thing for a hell of a lot less money.

It's an excuse they make to themselves to try to justify their purchase, and keep from being angry at themselves.

    Rather funny, really.

  • Just because you have a Ferrai engine in a Semi truck body does not means its going to be fast. Its not that Mac guys hate Custom PC its really Just Windows. I have used PC with twice the specs of my Mac but yet my Mac outperforms it, The hardware is fine but the person driving it (Windows) is not living it up to its full potential.

  • I have to laugh when I read bullshit like this. When I worked at Adobe, each engineer had high end mac and a windows box. And guess what, each and every time we would benchmark something, the windows box came out far ahead. I think you need to get a clue when you discuss performance, cause you are wrong.

  • yes, youbepointless

  • Thats something that ticks me off, users who compare macs vs PCs based on certain software they can run. Sure windows doesnt have final cut, they have Nuke, After effects, Toxik, etc. There is always a piece of software to do the task. Windows HPC Server 2008 does exactly that. If you really need the specific programs, then you need to get the computer that would work for that task.

  • to ibpointless:

what is that? could it be ..Magic? *.*

  • use ability, features, the warm feeling inside. the last one I lold.

    ETC.

    but most importantly NOT WINDOWS!

  • So only mr bit can make good custom builds despite the fact he's "limited" to the same hardware as every other custom builder....ok

Yes the mac mini looks good.

  • 2:07 - what is that? good will of apple engineers? get real. good computer = good specs.

2:33 - WHAT ARE THOSE EXTRAS? i bet you canT name any....

i listened the first half of the vid and i gotta ask you: why do you think your mac is superior to a pc. even if a better pc exists and is cheaper, why would you still think that your mac is superior? just because its made of al and has an apple logo (oh, and a X30N (*.*) in it)? again i say - get real!

3:28 - it upsets only you and macward, imo....

  • 3:37 - if mrbit can, everybody that knows a bit about computers can. (all due respect to mrbit) he doesnt have a special gift from god to make good machines....

4:06 - you're full of 'something' - just over 100°F? macward showed us - he ran prime95 (something like that) for 24hrs and his temps were around 125.

4:46 - wtf are you trying to say with that on screen thingy?

there is no magic in computers, but i somehow believe that you think different....

  • Northbridge, Dual GIG ethernet, optical in AND out not just out. And the quality of a mac. etc

  • Pc's do have a northbridge....

  • "Northbridge"

    *facepalm*

  • Northbridge? It means memory controller. Every system has it.

Dual RJ45? Just buy a PCI card that has it.

Optical in? I'll give you that, but I don't know anyone who uses Toslink on a computer.

Optical out? A lot of motherboards have it.

Quality? Like the i7 iMacs that were DOA.

  • wtf eric?

pc have NB. its just that the i7 has memory controller built-in the cpu - instead of the northbridge.

a quailty i7 motherboard has up to 8 usb ports (some have usb 3.0), esata AND dual GIG ethernet.

again i say, quality of a mac? watch?v=smNTpy-5Kuw - so much about quality, huh?

shut up please, even if apples products are That quality, it doesnt justify the price.
