  • Wow, was this ten years ago? What a great disc! The whole thing is so chill and relaxing. I used to hang by my pool and smoke a Cuban cigar in Arizona and watch the sky change twenty shades or red... Good times!

  • I'd completely fogotten about this song until the other day. Fuck, where does the time go?

  • it would be cool to have one song that pays off your whole life time

  • This is one of my all time favorites from 1998. Great song.

  • I was only a few years old when this song came out.

  • it was my fav song in 1998 for a lot of years.. Watch "Beuatiful Wreck " if you like this!!

  • It was my fav song in 1998 . If you like this watch "Beautiful Wreck" He is so underated and never made it big...dont understand .he and Eddie vedder have that great range in their voices even tho their genres are so different

  • @lao662002 You still remember when this song was released.

  • cool song...

  • Reminds me of 5th grade circa fall 1998.

  • buddy is ugly...GOOD SONG!

  • It came out in 1998 according to Wikipedia.

  • @jamielynnp24 You're right.

  • where is at now?

  • Genre? ha, this is rock. imo. if you slow it down in your mind, and be sure to add the drums, you got a little bit of When the Levee breaks, by LZ. if you slow it down enough, it's blues.

  • Yeah it's over 13 - 14 years old (this song) I was in Nashville when it came out.

  • fav song of all time

  • Shawn is one of those men who actually remained attractive after I grew up. I can't remember when the song came out exactly, but I think I was a freshman in high school... and had strange taste (still do I suppose). But, he's still attractive...

  • this is NOT country

  • its a Folk song.

  • this is a groovy piece man

  • its freakin music man!LOL

  • this songs not country, this songs genre is definatly alternative rock.. im not one to start arguments, but i hate country , so i thought i;d point it out to those who were saying its country

  • But thats if you start to listen to someone elses description of genre. If you were to place this yourself where would you put it. Would you analyse it and put it in alt rock or country?

  • this particular song sounds country but then im from CT so how would i know..lol, the rest of his songs dont sound country

  • i love Alternative rock , but im from CT so shawn has an accent so i thought it was country

  • It falls into what some call alternative country or americana, songs that never get radio play on country stations but seem to fall between the lines.....best just to call it good music. But hatine any type of music....i dunno, just seems kind of shallow.

  • love this song and im not a big country fan

  • maybe im am starting to like country , country is about real situations not all the drama like hip-hop and shit

  • Yep, because it doesn't get any more real than a chick thinking some dude's tractor is sexy.

  • Loved this song ever since i was a baby,My mum usedto always play it in the car,it has true meaning what my relatives used to tell me,its an awesome song, love it =]

  • My stepmum loved this song! Bring back some memories! :)

  • very relaxing and laid back.

  • took me forever to find the song too. Great song and grat memories. Every1 I talked to, remembers the song, but not the title. Need it in my life now....

  • i finally found this f'n song! haven't heard in for f'n ever!

  • I can only play this song when I'm outside of the UK...sometimes I think I bring my netbook with me just to be able to!

  • Hands down...favorite artist. Its hard to imagine, but hes even more phenomenal live. Extremely nice guy too.

  • What type music genre does this song fall under?

    Country/Rock

  • PopRock i think.

  • hes under the genre of hiphop rap/rock

  • it actually is like country rock with a twist

  • i can say this song has saved my life so many times over the years. i remember seeing a really short clip of the video advertising a mix album and then being determined to track down the album. i was 13 when it hit, and going through a bad head space. i dont think i would be where i am today with this song. the whole album rocks... ive gone through roughly 4 copies in the 11 years since lullaby came out. pity he never really took off. great artist.

  • i grew up listening to this song soo many memories

  • this song makes me feel idk like relaxed and stuff, its such a good song, always loved it since it came out

  • buen video, linda cancion

esa chica del video me parece que es la actriz que sale en la pelicula de contracara con jhon travolta y nick cage, es la que sale en el papel de la hija de travolta

  • i hate the talking in the beginnning soooo annoying and even afterwards

  • I think its very cool. very relaxing.

  • i love this song it kick ass

  • this song reminds me of a friend that passed away....

    today

    R.I.P - Danielle Bryd

  • your're a really good friend to keep remembering like that mate, good riddance.

  • i remember this song from when i was like in 1st grade always loved it.

  • me too.good times

  • omg i remember this song when i was like in 5-8th grade.... wow, memories.

    i miss being a kid

  • I also remember hearing this while I was in elementary school. The nostalgia factor definitely kicks in when this song plays for me.

  • ya dood, so many memories while in elementary/ middle school. it seems like it was yesterday to be honest. im 21 now.

  • same here

  • The video is about a girl who grows up in Hollywood surrounded by all this fame and fortune, but is unhappy because all the fame and luxury doesn't make her happy.

  • anyone know what the video is about? i hope its not blatantly obvious cuz i'm confused...

  • The video reflects the lyrics.

  • awesome jammed to this song in high school all the time :)

  • What Storiba said... I think.....Gday Japan :)

  • この曲を聴くと当時の彼女を思い出します。自分にとって名曲です。

  • Does anyone know the drummer who plays with Shawn Mullins?

  • yes

  • lol could you tell me?

  • it gives like 4 different drummers credit on the album but i haven't found a site the narrows the credits to just the song.

  • Oh I don't know..... But I'm sure sum1 does

  • ;o)

  • god the 90's rule. To me, where i lived, i didn't matter whether you liked GWar, shawn mullins, nirvana, tool, the cure, AIC, it all ROCKED!

  • i agree.... but i friggen love gwar over all of em lmao

  • lol.....

  • good song..and that girl is so pretty!!!

  • This brings back SOOOO many memories I wish I could go back!! I remember when I was little i first heard this on the radio it seemed like yesterday. Its sad how time flies :(

  • We like Ashey's cousin "Shawn Mullins ". Good job ....from Rogers Arkansas .

  • This is great. Thanks for posting!

  • You forgot the 'and send Custerflux 5 bucks' bit ...

  • Saw Shawn playing at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA several years ago before this song became a hit; was blown away with it then and still am today (over 10 years later). Go Shawn!!

  • this song got me thru a divorce. Needless to say, i have a fondness for this song. Actually Mullins album is pretty great!

  • marry

  • Her name is Domique Swain, fuckstick. And show some respect, douchbag. (Btw, "marrie" is spelled...well, NOT LIKE THAT.)

  • With all due respect,

its "Dominique Swain ", not Domique.

  • She prolly wouldnt wanna be fucked by someone who cant spell marry and doesnt even know her name -.-

  • i completly and utterly love love love love love love this song

  • what I really like about this song is that the song itself is very relaxed, despite its video that depicts fast-paced nightlife and emotional moments. Its a modern lullaby. Mullins made great music.

  • jeez i havent listened to this song in forever! i love it! :3

  • Great song and great video.

  • The video does kinda ruin the song, but I'll just pretend that I never watched this video and just will enjoy the song by itself.

  • WTF his shirt?

This song should not have a video. It ruins it.

  • I remember watching this every mourning at 6 am

  • this is such a 6 am-in-the-morning song.

  • i dont really understand what's going on here. the song has a great tune, and lyrics that seem like they should have a great meaning, but i don't get it?

  • it's about how some young people grow up way too fast because of the influences in their lives like the culture they live in, their parents, society, etc. The girl is young and privledged but cant cope with her fast paced lives that her parents are making her live through. Young people get into things like partying and drugs and cant deal with it.

  • oh okay! thankyou! i understand why it's called lullaby now - because she grows up too fast, and he is kind of showing her the peace associated with childhood in a lullaby.

but what is with the kissing bit in the clip?

  • Is this song suggesting that the girl's a lesbian? (In reference to the end where shes oogling the ladies)

  • The remake of LOLITA (the one this chick is in) is surprisingly bad. The original is far superior.

  • "She's seen her share of devils in this angel town"

    brilliant line :D

  • Yeah . . . if you're in the 4th grade.

  • more like forth grade and up...this song has great lyrics.

  • oh yeaaah! i love that movie "Lolita" was a dream make a film! and since that movie release! Dominique swain is a Mamacita of mi mind! hahaha!! take it easy!

  • My boyfriend sings this to me. <3

  • I absolutely love this song, and it's been so long, that I forgot about it...the only thing that sucked is when it did first come out, they over-played it so much, it lost a lot of it's luster, but I'm glad I heard it on the radio today :)

  • haffnt hurd this n 4EVER n wen i saw the vid i was like OMFG :) i love this song

  • nice :P

  • who is this girl, she is so beautiful...

  • Dominique Swain... she was in the movie 'Lolita'

  • this guy is a great singer!

  • I think this song is amazing... The chorus is just beautiful, the rest is kinda ok, but the chorus is sanf so amazingly =)

  • ya i dont very much like the song in its entirity but the chorus is awesome

  • he pulls that off perfectly at 1:24

  • for sure

  • Wow I havent heard this in forever. I remember I was a sophomore in high school when it first came out. I miss the 90s so much. And 90s music

  • i love this song it just got stuck in my head

  • the world has too many chocolate chips in it!

  • Ah man I miss this song.

    I miss 90s alternative music/music videos!

  • I LUV THIS SONG , i forgot about it for years and rediscovered it on the radio, i went on youtbe to check it out.

  • this was 9th grade for me!!

  • What movie was this song in?

  • Love this song.I remember singing this in the back of my moms car in first grade..

  • What a beautiful, poignant song. Dominique's character in this video describes my life to a "T". I'm not the daughter of someone famous or filthy rich, but I still feel the pain of being lonely and unloved.

  • Wow. You can kiss my ass.

  • Are you mentally challenged? You've said that already.

  • this song would appeal to anyone, very low key, simple yet elegant. They had some great music in the mid to late 90s, and early 2000s.

  • Poor girl just wants love.

  • wen it goes to his face close up singing with the curtains behind him- his hair looks GREY!! is that just me?? or does his hair look grey!!

anyways i agree he does look creepy lol

and i didnt imagine the film clip to be like this

  • It's just the lighting doing that cause of his blond hair colour, it does that to my friend too when he does a gig....

  • i love this song... but that guy looks like a creep

  • you wanna a guy who looks like a creep?

watch the "I don't wanna miss a thing" by aerosmith video clip...

    Steven tyler...the singer...scary

  • The Charles Manson look is in.

  • "kinda like Nashville with a tan"

I wonder how many people wish they wrote that one?

  • then I guess you aint wishin... :)

btw where you gettin your tan at?

  • well coincidentally ...
