  • Too scary of a hobby for me to ever pursue, but I can see how this could be fun. Cool snakes.

  • what kind of person keeps these as pets???

  • @Dkouts57 What kind of person jumps out of a perfectly good airplane? Or speeds in their car, Dinks & drives, Smokes? I don't do any of those really dangerous things....

  • @viperkeeper hi viperkeeper.. I love your videos! Great stuff keep up the good work. I don't mean to be too personal but have you talked to your doctor lately about weight management. We want you to be with us for a long time so we can watch your videos.. TY

  • do u do live feeds?

  • @DaBrownie14 No

  • Acting like a child who refuses their vegetables :)

  • Great stuff mate, I have a pair of dajarra Death Adder and it's incredible how fast they will strike. Not an animal to let your guard down with.

Love your collection, keep it up.

  • I never thought I would call a death adder cute, until I saw the 'head wag' haha. Beautiful snakes you have there.

  • hahaha he squirts water into its face hahaha

  • Death Adders are wicked looking snakes mate, there was one in the backyard of a place i was working on years ago,we called the reptile park and they came and collected it,do you have any Australian deathy's? or any Aussie snakes at all for that matter? great vid btw.

  • @nightcreaturehawkins Generally Australian snakes (wildlife)are not allow for export. The government allow them to be slaughtered but not exported. I do have a Collett's snake in the collection as well as Common Browns.

  • @viperkeeper yeah, dont get me started on our leftist ignorant government.iv'e checked out some of your vids....you have a better collection than the Australian reptile park! LOL,your taipan is awesome! i cant believe they'd let you have a taipan, the deadliest snake in the world...and not a king brown...or a red belly for instance? i dont know much about serpents but im really keen to get into the hobby! i'll sub and friend req. cheers mate :)

  • wow nice snakes!

  • I look forward to seeing some scaleless adders reach your collection. Thanks for sharing your snakes with us.

  • @asylum709 sir... you are the moron. There are actually humans that have no reaction to phylobates terribilis (a frog), and the savannah monitor has no reaction to cobra venom. The fact you cannot wrap your head around allergic reactions to proteins is your own fault, not Al's

  • your enclosures and facility in general are amazing, how long have you been into herps?

  • @imnotemo14 almost all my life.

  • Amazing reptiles. Beautiful but deadly.

  • why would someone want to have a houseful of deadly pisonous snakes...i dont get the excitement there.

  • @Asylum709 They are not poisonous, they are venomous.

  • @viperkeeper .........Your not stupid....you're a Moron

  • @Asylum709 Your not stupid, your a illiterate asswipe that doesn't know what the hell your talking about, so you should really shut the fuck up and refrain from making comments like this in the future unless you want to be put on blast.....again.

  • @viperkeeper they could be poisionous depends if your alergic :) tryiing to act smart are we?

  • @MrEmeraldtreeboa An allergic reaction is NOT a type of poisoning. Pollen or Dust can cause an allergic reaction, neither is ingested nor injected. Chew on that for a while smart ass.

  • @viperkeeper not to mention poison and venom are 2 entirely different things arent they, poison is ingested, and has to be metabolized, while venom is injected and is immediately effective?

  • @viperkeeper not to mention poison and venom are 2 entirely different things arent they, poison is ingested, and has to be metabolized, while venom is injected and is immediately effective?

  • @MrEmeraldtreeboa Its very interesting to me that some of us youngsters try to act like we know more the true experienced members of this field. Long story short" your ass got shut down".

  • @MrEmeraldtreeboa Wow your stupid

  • @Asylum709 There's a lot of excitement :D

  • scary shit D:

  • the big death adder looks kinda fake

you would be excited too i mean its your first youtube apearence

    big male

him pissing u off wot about u pissing him off

  • that was funny when the male missed the mouse and hit the snake hook lol.death adders r one of my favorite snakes.

  • nice man your hard core !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Viperkeeper have you seen the albino death adders from the great land down under?

  • bit of a random question but why do you keep venemous snakes?

    conservation?

    breeding? (same thing pretty much)

    hobbie?

  • @minute36 All of those, supply zoos & venom labs too.

  • WOW. That's a really STUPID way of keeping them. Non-secured...WTF?!

  • It scares me how they lay down completly motion less, don't even see them breath. But you know they could jump at you any second.

  • One thing confused me recently about these snakes. It turns out they are elapids and not viperids, but they look like viperids for defense?

  • convergent evolution....they fill the viperid nitch since there're are no viperids in Aus

  • i thought u wher taking a piss at the snake on 3:02 XD

  • LOL!!

  • Lol your're giving the death adder the finger

  • Better than it bitting my finger

  • at 3:37 she was like

what the heck u lookin at?

    lol beautiful snakes :)

  • They really have attitude

  • what does opaque mean?

  • snakes get a hazy/milky (opaque) look about them during the inital stages of shedding their skin.

  • Is this a hobby or is it part of your job?

  • Both and neither

  • death adders are one of the most ugly snakes

  • Do you find the death adders to be the most volatile of your snakes or is there another you would rank as having a nastier temper?

  • Daboia & Echis are the mose irasable

  • Certainly is very toxic but not the most.

  • My friend, anyone who deals with these awesome creatures in such an intimate way has my respect. Stay safe.

  • i have been bitten by a death adder

  • me too

  • I know these are very venomous, but isn't there a type of viper that is even more venomous?

  • Death adders are not vipers, they are Elapids.

  • what's the difference?

  • Look it up for yourself...try google

  • what's google?

  • What does it mean they're "opaque?" I tried wikipedia-ing it and the info was too technical for me.

  • It's in the beginning stage of shedding it's old skin.

  • i almst get bit by a death adder :p

  • wow nice snakes im trying to get my parents to let me buy a king snake or a corn snake as i've researches snakes alt seem most easiest to keep. i find snakes fascinating :P. do u buy snakes? or do u just get them from wild and release them again?

  • I import & breed snakes

  • nice

  • Nice video mate.. death adders are starting to grow on me.... and I can actually keep one since they're native to Aus!!

  • what kind of venom do deathies have? Hemotoxic or Neurotoxic?

  • Very very Neurotoxic

  • Do they hiss at all?

  • Not really

  • how many snakes do you have?

  • what camera do you use :)

  • Still: Sony DSC-R1

    Video: Sony DHC-096

  • can the hognose snake with its little fangs harm you with its venom?

  • Possible but not probable

  • I saw a program on BBC about these European Adders who actually managed to survive near the Arctic Circle.... Do you know anything about these?

  • Not a whole lot since they are protected and not available for private collections.

  • u have some really nice snakes

  • Hey Al, I know you have few rhino vipers, Bitis nasicornis, but you have the western veriety that I've seen in your videos but, you should get a Tanzanian rhino viper. Or I don't know if you seen this one it was on Corwins Quest, where they go to a chimp sanctuary, but he found one and it was a green veriety, what kind is it. It had the regular pattern but was mainly green which faded into golds and blues, aswell as had a little bit of cinamen colour and of course black.

  • I have 5 of them..you think I show everything I have...lol

  • thats cool but I just saw the ones with that greenish colour that you showed in the september 2008 mixed bags, though beautiful, but the green colour was even greener than yours

  • i hope you get bit!!!!

  • wow ur a fuckn moron leave al alone he has more talent in is pinky than your whole family does su hush little kid

  • Do us a favor and fall of the face of the Earth

  • "I hope you get bit!!!!"

What's the matter, kid? You've got nothing more constructive to do with your life, other than to wish harm on others? Watch Al's videos and you might actually learn something.

Until then, go back to your room and play with your Lego.

  • Don't feed this troll, guys. Grease nozzles like this are just sad for their existence. Just sit back and enjoy what Al has to offer.

  • Go fuck yourself, why would write something so assenine. He does more with his life than you'll ever accomplish, dont watch his videos, or better yet keep your dumb ass comments to yourself.

  • Nice video Al.

  • I watched ome stupid show on someone who ha Venomous snakes, I just kept thinking, Wow I relly wanna watch Als videos instead because al isnt boring

  • AL,

I srsly watch your videos more than anything ever.

You've made me lose interest in TV.

    Awesome snakes.

  • Great! There is little on TV worth the time, except: Animal Planet, History Channel, Discovery Channel. ect....

  • you dont like animal planet

  • Please carefully read what I wrote...if need be look up the definition of the word "except"

  • o i didnt read it good

  • Beautiful snakes Al, great video

  • 3:00 i thought you were peeing on it lol

  • These guys are so bloody fast, I've been bloody lucky not to have be bitten by one so far. every one I know who keeps them have had a bite from them.

  • Death adders=2

    Viperkeeper=0

Luckily they were both dry bites? Wouldn't fancy getting envenomated by a death adder. Cool video

  • Those deathies look like stars from the Jurassic Park movies. Their heads look like the Velociraptors. Great vid Al!

  • wow that looks freaking scary at first i thought it was a toy!

  • Probably one of the most beautiful and fascinating snake genus. I just love them so much. I can actually move to another state or another country and they will be one of the major reasons.

Great video Al. Please show those red ones, too when you have time.

  • hey AL, do you still have calenders ? if so how can i get one thanx

  • In the dry bites that you received did both fangs thouroughly penetrate your skin or was it just a scratch or tip of the fang.

  • Single fang deep, on both

  • Very nice instant nightvision cam lol. What make and model of video camera do you use AL?

  • Sony DHC-96

  • when the snake bites into the mouse and injects the venom does it like use it up or does it only use like 10% of the venom?

  • There is really no way of really telling. It injects what it feels will kill it fast.

  • Ok, I've forgotten to ask this, but it is unlikely that you have this species. Here go's, Do you have any Fea's vipers? they're very rare ( Rarer than favorite snake, king cobra) and lives in the cloud forests of China and Vietnam. Very little is known about it, but it seems that its venom is fairly mild and it feeds on small mammals. its head is pretty different than most vipers it's scientific name is Azemiops feae. I am hoping faintly that you have one Please show us if you have one

  • Viperkeeper does have at least one look at the previous videos or buy his 2008 or the 2007 Callender, or hell go on his website he had pictures of it

  • Ya, I got I saw the vid with it.

  • shes dancing for the camera at 9:30ish after the strike

  • Hey Viperkeeper.

Do you have any Aussie Death Adders?

if not you should get yourself a Desert Death adder or two. the Dajarra Death Adder is also nice and there are also some Scale-less Death Adders. Plus the common ones too. I love them all check them out.

  • No...Deathies from the mainland are not available here.

  • Thanks Al ... very good of you to share your respected knowledge :)

  • Hey Al, was that last segment on a previous episode?

  • It could be..It's hard to keep track of sometimes.

  • the red acanthophis leavis are really beautiful

  • I love all of your videos..always educational and entertaining. You certainly know your venomous snakes my friend :)

  • Acanthophis is one of my favorite genus and I love using them as an example of convergent evolution, as they are much like members of the Viperidae family. Thanks for posting all your videos.

  • this species has youtaking the most care i've seen you take with snakes..... they must be very very deadly beautiful....

  • Death adders: 2

    Viperkeeper: 0

That's why I treat them the way I do.

  • Have you been tagged by Ancanthophis sp.? Scary stuff and the AV is expensive and only made in 1 lab in Aus. right?

  • Yes, they both were dry-bites....

  • Newest show. I put this on your last vid so I'm guessing that you didn't get it. Whats your favorite species of snake?

  • I don't have a favorite

  • Oh. My favorite snake is the king cobra Ophiophagus hannah, then in 2nd is the Hydrophis Belcheri sea snake ( don't know Latin name) then 3rd is the Inland taipan Oxyuranus microlepidotus. those are my favorites.

  • did u get bit by one 2 of them?

  • beatiful snakes very nice speciums

  • Great video, Al.

  • Awesome stuff man, love all your vids

  • Can you do some slow mo shots of them striking??

    Great vid.

  • The death adder has one of the scariest strikes I have ever seen. You are a brave man Al.

  • WOW there venom yield varies a lot there venom yield on the website i look at is (mg) : 70.0-236.0 ( Thats for the Acanthophis antarcticus ) not as much as your naja naja but i still i didnt think the LD50 would be more then a Crotalus viridis and the yield is nearly the same. Might have to do some more research on LD50 you learn somthing every day lol

  • Last time i looked up the LD50 on the ( Acanthophis antarcticus ) I think it was around 0:60 ( mg/kg ) i have no clue what there yield is might have to look it up just so i know :')

Nice video mate 5***** as allways

  • P.S I think that LD50 was based on the subcutaneous method

I got a massage so i thought i would post it here.

And i dont think any geographical data was given with the LD50 so your results could be diffrent

  • great vid and a great snake :-)

i would love to see the tree vipers though

  • another great vid al, keep up the good work!!.
