yes you still need a plan with your service provider it varies depending on who you have, you can use the phone itself as an ipod touch though

in Dubai , the festival city mall , yah it works with other sim cards ,its unlocked you can use any service provider you want

you cant use th iphone with verizon bcause the iphone only works with sim cards, its GSM not CDMA, sorry, its easy to unlock it just do some research online

i bought mine from the o2 store with my dad,

then unlocking it is pretty simple,

you just connect your iphone to your computer using the connector thing-which also attatches to your charger:)

then just follow the onscreen instructions on your computer, if you have a mac, i have an imac, its reeallyyyy quick and you can immediatly start putting songs onto it and stuff, i dont know if this is different with a vista or xp :D

lol , well i live in the middle east dude in the UAE, all phones here are legally locked cuz we dont have a lot of service providers just 2 of them, but this iphone is not cheap its expensive, i bought it for about 850 bucks cuz not a lot of ppl sell it
